Outcome of Faith Transformed Mind

Outcome of Faith
Transformed Mind

Faith is what we believe
Faith is what we hope for
Faith is shaped in our minds
Faith is shaped by the words we hear
The things we experience, the people around us
All these things shape the way we think and therefore shape our faith
What is the outcome of the way you think, your faith
To have a good outcome to life we must continue to renew
And renovate our minds, the way we think

Transformed Mind

Faith is what we believe.

Faith is what we hope for.

Faith is shaped in our minds.

Faith is shaped by the words we hear,
the things we experience,
the people around us.

All these things shape the way we think
and therefore shape our faith.

When a child is little, he is
told there is a Santa Claus.

As he grows older He finds the gifts he
receives on Christmas came from Mom and Dad.

For the child faith or belief in
Santa is shaped by the parents.

If you listen to only right wing news
or left wing news, your belief will be
shaped by the words of those networks.

If you experienced being on a winning team, your faith
will be different than if you were on a losing team.

All these things, the words we hear,
the things we experience, the
people around us shape our faith.

What you and I believe
will affect our outcome.

The three illustrations of Santa fantasy, words
from the media, and experience of winning
or losing all effect the outcome of our lives.

All of us have faith…

We believe certain things about life.

All of us have wondered how some
people can do the things they do.

We have asked the question…

 “What were they thinking?”

Faith and thinking go together.

There is blind faith, and in most cases,
it is nothing more than wishful thinking.

Faith however is logical, faith is
what we think and what we feel.

As we look around the world, we
see people living in different ways.

Ways that have been shaped
by fantasy, words, and people.

Most of us don’t realize what makes us “tick”.

Why we do what we do.

With all three illustrations
we can see the good and bad.

So if faith and what I believe shapes
my outcome in life, how can I make
sure I am believing in the things that
will give me the best outcome.

There is a verse in the Bible that says…

Do not conform any longer to the pattern
of this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind.

Then you will be able to test and approve what
God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2

In the world around us
there is pattern thinking.

There are great studies
involving pattern thinking.

Some of these patterns are
obviously, to most, harmful.

This verse in Romans suggest we “be
transformed by the renewing of our minds”.

The word “Renewing” means to “Renovation”.

All of us are affected by the world around us.

Your mind and mine needs a Renovation.

I want an outcome to my faith that
is “Good, Pleasing and Perfect”.

That is God’s will and His will for you and I.

1 Corinthians 2:16 says…

"For who has known the mind of
the Lord that he may instruct him?"

But we have the mind of Christ.

It is possible to think like God.

To have the mind of Christ we
will need to renovate our mind.

We will need to take off
the old and put on the new.

Do not lie to each other, since you have
taken off your old self with its practices
and have put on the new self, which is being
renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
Colossians 3:9-11

God is not a fantasy like Santa.

God works out the experiences of life for our good.

The fellowship of Christ and Christ’s
followers open our minds to eternal trues.

The outcome of what you believe
depends on the renovation of your mind.

Renovate your mind with purpose.

Purpose to want what God wants for you.

Romans 8:5-8 NIV
5 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. 8 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
