Governing Diversity

At His birth, Jesus had the government on His shoulders

In Revelations 21:6-7, we see the final outcome of His government

The diversity of the nations will bring to the new heaven and new earth their best

The splendor of the finest foods, artwork, and other cultural greatness

It will all be there for us to enjoy the true honor and glory of the nations

Jesus’ movement will remove all the impure things

Only the purity of the nations will enter it

No locks on the gates, there will be no fear of each other

The shameful and deceitful things will be removed

 God is not against diversity

He is against the impurities, the shameful and deceitful ways in our diversity

Governing Diversity

One of my favorite Christmas verses is Isaiah 9:6-7…

For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace

there will be no end.

The other day I went to downtown Toledo.

I had a meeting on the 22 Floor

of the Government One Building.

That is the top floor that not only looks out over

the city, but is where the Mayor’s office is.

When I arrived, there was no one at the

receptionist desk so I took the time to look around.

There in a hallway on the wall were

names and pictures of all the Mayors

of Toledo from 1837 to today.

I grew up in Toledo and was under

the government of 16 Mayors of Toledo.

Toledo had been predominately Republican until

1957 since then Democrats have taken control.

As I looked at those pictures,

I was reminded of my life in Toledo and

the things I did with some of those Mayors.

The changes that had taken place in Toledo

and the diversity that has grown here.

In America, government is to be

for the people and of the people.

But after every election some

will have won and some will have

lost the government they wanted.

Being in government is not an easy thing.

Jesus was born with the

government on His shoulders.

I find it interesting to see how Jesus’

government is carried out in the end.

Look at Revelation...

I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 21:22-27

In Heaven under Jesus’

government there will be diversity. 

Nations will walk in the light, the splendor

of the nations will bring their best into heaven.

So if you like ethnic foods,

I think the best of Mexico, Italy,

Asian and all the other fine foods

of the world will be there to enjoy.

The best art work of the world’s

ethnic groups will be there.

 

The glory and honor of the

nations will be brought into it.

There will be no locks.

You will not need to lock your car

or whatever kind of super transportation mode

we will have in the new heaven and new earth.

Why?   Because…

“Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will

 anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful,”

Now that is government.

There will be diversity

but without the impurities.

It will be a place where the “Glory and the

Honor of the Nations will be brought in”.

So next time you enjoy a good ethnic meal

know you just got a little taste of heaven.

Let Jesus rule in your life.

He loves the glory and honor you have

to offer, so let Him remove the impurities

so what you have will be the best.

How wonderful it will be for you to have

what I have to offer without impurities.

I heard you say A-men.

God is not against diversity.

But He is against the impurities,

the shameful and deceitful

ways in our diversity.
