Power to Reign

When God created us He said “You Rule”

Heaven has been watching since that time

They have seen us fail

The 24 Elders around God’s Throne have seen the contrast

They have seen Jesus reign in heaven

This has caused them to say

"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,

the One who is and who was,

because you have taken your great power

and have begun to reign.

What are they excited about

You have taken your great power and have begun to reign.

We are still commanded to rule

We are to rule and region with Him forever

That starts now in our personal lives

“With Him” you can conquer the sin in your life 

Power to Reign

The earth is full of power struggles,

 all these powers are trying to reign.

Trying to take control.

Trying to be number one.

When God created man and woman,

 He gave them the command to rule.

It is very clear we all want to rule.

People use their power to take control…

In government, sports, industry, education, etc.

Every area of life there are ruling powers.

They are reigning some for short

times and others for long seasons.

It is clear to see many use their power to

reign against God and His righteousness.

 

The truth of the matter is throughout history

we have done a terrible job of reigning.

Our power has brought

oppression rather than life.

Imagine Heaven looking at

the way we reign on the earth…

The angels who live in the peace and

joy that comes from the throne of God.

If you are like me there have been

many times in this life I have had enough

and said God what are you waiting for?

Come rule and reign over the earth.

We get a picture of this in Revelation 11, in

verse 16 are the Elders who sit around the throne.

They have seen it all, everything ever

done on the earth from creation till now.

In contrast they are seated around

the throne and see God reign in heaven.

They break out with worship as they

fall from their seats to their faces

on the ground and they say…

"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,

the One who is and who was,

because you have taken your great power

and have begun to reign.

What are they so excited about?

You have taken your great

power and have begun to reign.

The power is described like something you would

see in the movie, “The Raiders of the Lost Ark”.

There came flashes of lightning, rumblings,

peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm

We are still waiting for that day to come.

But the things that are oppressing you, the

things ruling your life do not need to control you.

You and I have the command to rule and

reign and it starts in our own personal lives.

God make His power available to

us so we can conquer and reign.

Look at Romans 5:17…

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

God wants to give you the abundance of His grace.

Grace is the favor to receive all His provisions.

The Gift of Righteousness,

the ability to do it right.

The same power that took the dead body

of Jesus Christ and brought it back to life…

Can empower you to rule over the things

in your life that are killing you

and give you abundant life today.

Discouragement, fear, addictions, lust,

all the powers of sin can be overcome.

When Jesus died for your sins it was more

than a ticket to heaven when you die.

He conquered sin so that this life, that today you

can have the power to rule over the evils in your life.

You and I were made to rule and reign

“with Him” forever and that starts right now.

You and I are in the

training for the reigning.

Get “with God”.

 Receive His grace and power to overcome.

You were made to RULE and REIGN

not alone, but with Him.

Revelation 11:16-19 NIV

16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:

"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,

the One who is and who was,

because you have taken your great power

and have begun to reign.

18 The nations were angry;

and your wrath has come.

The time has come for judging the dead,

and for rewarding your servants the prophets

and your saints and those who reverence your name,

both small and great —

and for destroying those who destroy the earth."

19 Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm.
