The Accuser Overcome by the Word of Their Testimony

The Accuser
Overcome by the Word of Their Testimony

The early Disciples knew God confirmed
His Word with signs and wonders

As you serve and live out God’s Word,
God will make your life a sign and a wonder

He will confirm His Word

A testimony powerful enough to
destroy the works of the Accuser

And lead others to Christ

Our words can condemn us or free us.

What you say matters.

We put our confidence in people by what they say.

If they do not live according to what they say,
we lose confidence and trust in their words.

What type of words overcome our accuser?

The answer is in two parts…

The Words of God and the life that lives them.

When Jesus was being tempted by the devil He
used the Word of God to answer each temptation.

In the first temptation Jesus answered…

“Man shall not live by bread alone but by
every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

This is the testimony that overcomes…

The Word of God lived out in a person’s life.

When Satan tried to trip up Jesus in the second temptation
Jesus laid His defense on God’s shoulders by saying…

"It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'

Jesus lived the Word of God and made it clear to
His accuser that he was testing and questioning God.

What a wonderful thing to stand
in front of your accuser and say…

You are not questioning me, but God.

Yes, Satan tried to use God’s Word to deceive Jesus
but Jesus knew what God had said and what He meant.

It is important to understand and live God’s
Word according to the way God meant it.

The third temptation showed Jesus’
pleasure in living God’s Word…

"Away from me, Satan! For it is written:
'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"

Notice Jesus did not dwell on Satan…

 "Away from me, Satan!

Jesus showed we don’t serve God because we have to,
it is because we love to.

We live out God’s Word as a spiritual act of worship.

According to Ephesians 6, we
have a weapon for the battles we fight.

“The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” V. 17

Hebrews 4:12 tells us how sharp the sword is…

“For the word of God is living and active.
Sharper than any double-edged sword,
it penetrates even to dividing soul and
spirit, joints and marrow; it judges
the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

God’s Word is alive, it is active.

God’s spoken Word created the world,
calmed the storms and healed the sick.

Man does not life by bread alone but
by every Word from the mouth of God.

The early Disciples knew God confirmed
His Word with signs and wonders.

As you serve and live out God’s Word,
God will make your life a sign and a wonder.

He will confirm His Word.

A testimony powerful enough to
destroy the works of the Accuser…

and lead other to Christ.

Scripture Reading

Revelation 12:10-11 NIV
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

"Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ.
For the accuser of our brothers,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11 They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;

Mark 16:15-20 KJV
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 .They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
