Happy New Year
New Year Well-Wishing 


From late December to early January
it will be open season on well-wishing.

You and I will hear these words “Happy New Year” more than
we can count and we will probably say them that many, too.

It is good to be a well-wisher to let friends, family and even
strangers know you want them to be happy in the next year.

What do these three simple words mean
to us that we would say them so much?

Every time I hear these words I feel encouraged
that someone is standing with me and that is
much better than someone standing against me.

Those three little words seem to help
set your mind on a positive restart.

The breaking down of a life time into one year.

The focus from the day in and day out to an annual view.

So what will a Happy New Year look like for you?

At the end of the next year when you put those 365
days on the scale, what will they balance out to be?

You and I know that in the next year the weather will
change and we have no control over the sun or rain.

So we are all on the same page.

 What is the definition of “happy”?
  
Happiness is a feeling or showing pleasure or contentment.

Happy has a lot of synonyms…



cheerful, cheery, merry, joyful, jovial, jolly, jocular, gleeful, carefree, untroubled, delighted, smiling, beaming, grinning, in good spirits, in a good mood, lighthearted, pleased, contented, content, satisfied, gratified, buoyant, radiant, sunny, blithe, joyous, beatific; thrilled, elated, exhilarated, ecstatic, blissful, euphoric, overjoyed, exultant, rapturous, in seventh heaven, on cloud nine, walking on air, jumping for joy, jubilant; chirpy, over the moon, on top of the world, tickled pink, on a high

Image all these words as describing you every day of the year.

WOW!!! That would make everyone around you happy.

Although this sounds good,
 Solomon was right there is a...

 “A time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,” Ecclesiastes 3:4 NIV

Being ignorant of our surroundings
will not make problems go away.

 In fact, ignorance generally makes things worse.
 
So a key to having a happy year
is to properly deal with problems…

The rainy days of sorry and grief.

Don’t let them keep you down
on the days you should be happy.

So when that sick feeling is in your stomach,

That stressful anxiety that eats away all happiness,

Do this…

Remember Christ gives us the power to handle all things.

We are strengthen by His Word.
  
Pray because…

The Lord is faithful, and He
will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
"Be strong, do not fear; your God will come.

 If we remember these things, our hardest years
will become our happiest years because the key of
thankfulness will unlock the door of happiness again.

“Be joyful always; pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus”
