Knowledge Who is your Teacher?

Knowledge

Who is your Teacher?

I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you.
But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit
— just as it has taught you, remain in him.
1 John 2:26-27 NIV

Teachers - you and I have had a lot of them.

Parents, school & Sunday School teachers, pastors,
coaches, friends, co-workers all are teachers.

They have played a role in who you are.

There is a saying that says,
“Your best teacher is your last mistake”.

But who is your best teacher or who is your favorite teacher?

Reflecting on my school years there was one teacher
that stands out in my mind, not because she was
a good teacher, but because I had a crush on her.

Obviously our teachers looks, experiences, wealth
etc. all play a role in what the teacher teaches.

There is a teacher that excels above all our teachers.

John tells us our best teacher is the Holy Spirit.

John says… we have teachers who are trying to lead us astray.

Paul the Apostle realized with all the truth he
had received he still missed the mark that is
why he said be followers of me as I am of Christ.

John says the Holy Spirit teaches us in the following ways…

The Holy Spirit is an inter anointing.

When you and I invite the Holy Spirit
into our lives things change.

The Bible says old things pass away all things become new.

Also in Romans, we are told we cannot
belong to God unless His Spirit is in us.

I have known several children who did poorly in
school until it was discovered they needed glasses.

All of us do poorly in life until we
discover we need the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit in us effects the way we see everything.

The Holy Spirit and your spirit relate on that spiritual realm.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to give confirmation
to our spirit, our conscience become a good guide.

John speaks of the Holy Spirit as being
an “anointing” to anoint is to cover.

When what goes into your spirit, into the core of
who you are becomes covered by the Holy Spirit
you have an amazing ability to understand the truth.

In the Gospel of John, we see the Holy Spirit is the
Counselor able to teach and bring back to your
remembrance what you need to know about life.

At times you will be challenged with the truth.

The Holy Spirit will not only teach you but will
reveal how to communicate the truth with wisdom.

Teachers are important.

God even adds teachers to the list of
spiritual gifts He gives the church.

But John wants you and I to know the
importance of being in tune to the Holy Spirit.

He says you don’t need anyone to teach
you but the anointing Holy Spirit.

The point John is making is…

Every source of knowledge needs to be
looked at through the lens of the Holy Spirit.

One of the most important things to
remember is All Scripture is inspired.

David said, Thy Word have I hid in my
heart that I might not sin against God.

When you and I read God’s Word the
Holy Spirit gives us the understanding
of its practical working in life.

You cannot separate God’s Word from the Holy Spirit.

When you and I are doing poorly in life…

Consider Revelations 3:18 and anointing your eyes.

See life through the lenses of the Holy Spirit.

Remember your best teacher says…

Never will I leave you never will I forsake you so
we can say with confidence the Lord is my helper.

Let the Holy Spirit teach you so you
will be able to act and speak in wisdom.
