Knowledge What You Need to Know

Knowledge
What You Need to Know

Tired of all the opinions on life?

The secrets to life are revealed to those who start here…

Seek first the Kingdom of God;
Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit

Ever listen to someone go on and on telling
you about a lot of things you don’t need to know.

Detective Sergeant Joe Friday from the 50’s TV
Show, Dragnet, famous business-like catch phrase…

“Just the Facts, ma’ am”
“Just the Facts”

We hear too much and the facts are lost.

The emotional and personal opinions so often
hide the truth and what we need to know.

So what do we need to know?

We need to know about life.

We need to know how to live, “really live”.

Just about everything we talk about, all the books we
read, or on line searches are focused on “life”, how to live.

You have heard of getting the cart in front of the horse.

That is the approach most of us take.

We are focused on what we eat, exercise,
schooling, where to work, medication, vacation time.

All of these things are important but they are
not the first things we need to seek to understand.

The Bible tells us the first thing we need to seek.

Where our knowledge should start.

The foundation to all we need to know.

It says… “Seek first the kingdom of God.” Romans 14:17

Listen to where it starts.

The Kingdom of God is
“righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit”.

This verse also tells us what the Kingdom of God isn’t.

It is not a matter of eating, and drinking.

Eating and drinking are essentials,
but they are not the first thing to real life.

The Kingdom of God starts with righteousness,
what is right. (Who wants to be wrong?)

Peace in what you think and feel.

Joy in the Holy Spirit.

Joy is something God wants to share with you.

Now I hate to tell you this, but the
knowledge of the Kingdom is a secret.

It is only a secret to those who are
trying to discover life on their own.

But to those who seek the Kingdom first find
the knowledge to everything else and life comes alive.

Ever notice there are a million ways
or more to do something wrong.

Doing it right saves time and brings more enjoyment.

So if you really want to know what you need to know…

Seek God’s Kingdom first.

Jesus says…

"The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.”

The secrets of the Kingdom are given to those who want it.

They are the ones who start in the right place
and build with the right foundation.

What they have will last.

Those who start with all the other things will find
life’s situations will take it all away from them.

Don’t be one of those who is ever
learning but never understanding.

Don’t be one of those who rambles on and
on about things you don’t need to know.

Start with the right foundation.

Seek Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit.

And live a Kingdom life.

Scripture Reading

Matthew 13:11-17 NIV

11 He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:

"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:

"'You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.'

16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17 For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
