Knowledge
Knowing God
Don’t paraphrase God’s words to fit your life style.
Don’t abuse grace and mercy.
Don’t say you know God and don’t do
the things He commands us to do.
Live life to the fullest, have a relationship with God.
Don’t just claim to know God.
Get to know Him.
Go where He wants you to go.
Do what He wants you to do.
You have heard the saying…
“It is not what you know but who you know”
It is undeniable “knowledge” essential is to living life.
Imagine going through life not knowing what you are doing.
The fact is all of us have felt at times we were
going through life not knowing what we were doing.
Some make knowledge their life achievement while
others receive knowledge by winging it (they learn as they
go).
Our culture places a lot of emphasis on education.
We have Preschool, Grade School, Jr. Hi, Sr. Hi,
College, Trade School, in fact there are learning
environments on almost anything you can think of.
Knowledge makes you feel confident.
Knowledge is everywhere and is very important.
But the saying is true…
“It is not what you know but who you know”.
You can have all kinds of degrees attached
to your name and miss out on true life.
The knowledge must become a relationship.
A relationship with the Creator of life.
The Designer of everything that
has to do with life and godliness.
Jesus said… I came
that you might
have life and have it
to the full.
He said… I am the way,
the truth and the life.
Knowledge that comes outside of a relationship
with Jesus Christ is missing “purpose”.
Jesus gives purpose to everything that has to do with life.
There are many who claim to know God.
I hope you are one of them.
But our claim is false if our
actions are not living out His truth.
One of the saddest things I see in the church
are people, people I love yet they live outside
of the church in a way God says is sin.
God is very clear on the role of sex in life.
Yet, many church goers are living with a
partner outside of God’s institution of marriage.
Sadly Jesus says… “many
will say they knew God
but he will say depart
from me I never knew you.”
Our depth of knowing someone is based
on the observation of what they say and do.
It is also based on time spent together.
There are many who claim to know God,
yet they leave Him at church on Sundays.
If we claim to know God would
He be offended in our daily lives.
I think all of us paraphrase the Words of God.
We reshape the truth to fit our lives.
We should all remember Jesus’
warning of the sheep and the goats.
There will be many who God will say
“depart from me I
never knew you”.
Say what He wants you to say.
Scripture Reading
Titus 1:16 NIV
16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny
him.
They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing
anything good.
