Knowledge Pursuit of Knowledge And the first “SIN”

Knowledge
Pursuit of Knowledge
And the first “SIN”

The pursuit of knowledge is something we spend a lot of time on.

The pursuit of information is something we do all the time.

In our world today information is just a click away.

We can learn more in minutes then our
parents 40 years ago could learn in a week.

Many look to the Book of Daniel in belief that
Daniel is saying in the end times knowledge will
increase and many will pursue knowledge.

It is amazing I can spent 10 to 30 minutes gaining
knowledge on the internet and save myself hours of work.

In the Book of Ecclesiastes the teacher warns:

Of making many books there is no end,
and much study wearies the body.”

We should never forget it was the pursuit
of knowledge that the first sin was made.

The origin of “sin” originated from the pursuit of knowledge.

God said…

"You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."
Genesis 2:16-17 NIV

Adam and Eve’s pursuit of wisdom by partaking
of the tree of knowledge caused separation
from God who created everything we needed.

They made a willful choice to pursue
 knowledge apart from God.

Romans 5:12 tells us sin entered
the world through one man…

“Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin,
and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—“

Romans 5:19 tells us through Adam we are
all born into the world as sinners…

“For just as through the disobedience of the
one man the many were made sinners,”

The only hope we have is through
the obedience of the one Man Jesus…

“So also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”

We should not be foolish in our pursuit of knowledge.

 Knowledge has good and evil.

Adam and Eve lost their fear of the
Lord, their trust in the Lord.

The knowledge they gained brought death.

Proverbs says…

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

What is it you want to know?

Anything that adds to or takes away from
knowing and the knowledge of God is sin.

It is wise to…

“Prove all things and hold fast to what is good.”

Hold fast to the knowledge that comes from the one
who made everything you need for life and godliness.

Pursuing the knowledge of good and
evil brought sin into the world.

Remember if you pursue the one who
created everything you need…

You will be wise and full of truth.

Scripture Reading NIV

Proverbs 9:10
10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Ecclesiastes 12:9-13
9 Not only was the Teacher wise, but also he imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs. 10 The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true.

11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails — given by one Shepherd. 12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them.

Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.

13 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole (duty) of man.
