Marriage the Wife of
Great Worth
“Beauty” we can’t
keep our eyes off of it.
It could be a sun set over the ocean, or
a flower, even shiny cars and artwork.
Type in the word “beauty” in a Google image
search and all the images will be women.
To a man, the most beautiful
thing God made is the woman.
One of the hardest things for a
man is to not ogled
at women.
For women they want to be beautiful.
Many spend lots of time and money to get
the shapes and shades that attract the looks.
Out of all the beauty pageants ever held there is
one woman who was more beautiful than them all.
Eve, the mother of us all.
When God created woman,
He set the bar for beauty.
Like a flower, a woman’s body withers.
The outer beauty fades away.
This is why God turns our attention
to focus on the inner woman.
God gives us a description of
an inner beauty of a wife.
Qualities that never fade.
She is submissive to her husband not
controlling, domineering and demanding.
She is at peace when she is in conflict with her
husband because she trusts in God’s Word.
Her behavior is so pure and reverent it
brings her respect of her biblical views.
She has a gentle and quiet spirit.
She is a loving wife full of tenderness
and a deep sense of understanding.
All of this is obtained through
her great faith in Christ.
This is how God values a wife.
God calls this wife…
Great Worth.
Scripture Reading
1 Peter 3:1-6 NIV
Wives, in the same
way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the
word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when
they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come
from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry
and fine clothes. 4 Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading
beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. 5
For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used
to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, 6
like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters
if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.
