The Million Dollar Life

God’s indescribable gift
Inspires us to be generous givers
Which results in Thanks giving to God
Thanks Giving to God
“Let us not become
weary in doing good, for at the proper time
we will reap a harvest
if we do not give up. 10 Therefore,
as we have
opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially
to those who belong to
the family of believers.” Galatians 6:9-10 NIV
Jesus said the poor you will always have with you.
There are a lot of reasons for poverty.
Jesus once had a woman who came to Him
and because she was not an Israelite He said…
"It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their
dogs."
The woman replied…
"Yes, Lord," she said,
"but even the dogs eat the crumbs
that fall from their
masters' table."
“Then Jesus answered,
"Woman, you have great faith!
Your request is granted." Matthew 15:26-28 NIV
Poverty should not be in the house of faith.
The “bread”… God’s
Word teaches us how to get out of poverty.
Jesus’ focus was the
family of believers but
he always honored faith where ever He saw it.
Our first priority in giving should be the family of
believers.
I was blessed to be a part of ‘giving believers’.
When we started the church I pastored for
30 years, the people were generous givers.
It was common for an envelope in the offering
to say, “Please give
this to_____”.
Money, food, cars, instruments were regularly given and
most of the time unanimously to people in the church.
The people watched out for one another and
it was rare that anyone would ever ask for help.
The believers were so sensitive to the Holy Spirit
that they gave to
others just because the Spirit
put it on their
heart, not even seeing a need.
The testimonies generated faith and thanksgiving to God.
Regularly people would share… “I had an unexpected bill and
I did not know where
the money would come from and
I opened my mail box
and there was a gift for that amount.”
Or, they got in their car and found an envelope
on the steering wheel.
When we give, it creates a thanksgiving to God.
We do it not because we have large bank accounts.
We give because we are thankful for God’s…
“indescribable gift!”
Ask God where you can give an alms gift this week.
Scripture Reading
Ephesians
1:17-19 NIV
18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may
be enlightened in order
that you may know the hope to which he has
called you,
the riches
of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
2 Corinthians
9:11-15 NIV
And through
us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
12 This
service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is
also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the
service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the
obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for
your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their
prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing
grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
