The Gold Standard
By William M. Self, Sr.
The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field…
and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that
field.
God says buy from Me
gold
How to Buy Kingdom Gold
God says…
“Buy from Me gold
refined in the fire”
Just before these words God says…
“I know your deeds”
According to God their deeds were
“neither hot or cold”
A neutral position.
I am not so sure we can say the
Laodicens were an
evil people.
God does not say He disapproved of
the hard work and wealth they gained.
The problem is they did not exchange
the natural for the
spiritual.
Jesus gives us a couple of examples in Matthew…
"The
kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.
When a man found it, he hid it again, and then
in his
joy
went and sold all he had and bought that field. "
“Again,
the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for
fine
pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away
and
sold everything he had and bought it.” Matthew 13:44-46
These parables tells us to sell all we
have for the kingdom treasure.
In Colossians, it is stated very simply…
“Whatever
you do in word or deed, do all in
the
name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to
God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17
Everything you have can be turned
into Kingdom of God
gold.
It is more than just saying my deeds,
my house, my money are God’s.
We need to actually spend them.
Buy the gold, buy the treasure, buy the pearl.
Give everything you have for God’s
Kingdom and you will become rich.
Stop looking at your deeds, your works,
to pay the utilities,
house and car payment.
Look at your deeds and works
to buy a portion of heaven.
Make your prayer a reality…
“Thy
Kingdom come Thy will be done
in
earth as it is in heaven.”
If you are a tither you are 10%
there, now give the
other 90%...
To buy gold from God.
Scripture Reading
Revelation 3:14-18 NIV
15 I know your deeds, that you are neither
cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are
lukewarm — neither hot nor cold — I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17
You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you
do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I
counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich;
and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve
to put on your eyes, so you can see.
