Our Perception of God

Our Perception of God

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
Psalms 139:7-8

Everybody has a perception of God
Some perceive He only exist in the minds of others
Some perceive God is the creation of all things
Some perceive God to be the creator of all things
We all have perceptions of life and perceptions of God
Remember our perceptions of God are like our perceptions of a tree
The roots, you cannot see,
Look nothing like the tree, you can see, but both shape the tree
When your reality of life or God is challenged, remember Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Always believe God exist because if you seek Him you will find Him Deuteronomy 4:29
Always believe God is just and rewards Galatians 6:9; John 10:10
2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Our Perception of God

Everybody has a perception of God.

Some perceive He only
exist in the minds of others.

Some perceive God is
the creation of all things.

Some perceive God to
be the creator of all things.

We all have perceptions of
life and perceptions of God.

I have found my perceptions challenged.

What I thought life should be
and what God should be
did not line up with my reality.

Those times have always
caused me to search deeper.

Our perception is like looking at a tree.

We can describe the trunk and
its bark, its limbs and the leaves.

We even know the timing of change
as it goes through the seasons.

But when you search below the surface
the unseen parts of a tree look nothing
like the tree above the surface.

What is below the surface is so vital
to what we see above the surface.

This is our perception of life and of
God, we see what is on the surface
and think we understand it all.

We think the only picture is what the
eye has seen until certain events take
place in our lives that take us deeper.

Going deeper is always harder
because those things are not clear and they
are hidden in the darkness of our mind.

Not that the things hidden or
in darkness are evil or bad, they
just take more effort to get to.

I am so glad for the times in my life that
my perceptions have been challenged even
though they have been very uncomfortable.

Believing in God from the time I
was able to believe in anything.

Believing I knew the mysteries of God,
that my studies and experiences
made me a professional.

I could predict what God would do and not do.

In those times when God did not
meet my expectations, I was in chaos.

When I saw the roots it looked nothing
like the tree I had viewed all my life.

But the roots are the tree and when my
chaos turned into understanding the
bigger picture, I found a greater glory.

Sadly, many fall into depression when
their perception is challenged.

The confusion of seeing something
that does not look like what they
have seen turns into unbelief.

When God has taken me to the very basics
of faith “Believing He exist”…

I never let go of the reality of God,
even thought I could not see it.

When God had taken me into a deeper search…

I could see the roots with a totally different look
from the tree I had always envisioned in my mind.

It was from that place I could see
God like never before…

Like seeing a tree in the night
verses in the sunlight.

God wants to reveal Himself to us…

All of us have perceptions
of God that are unreal.

So welcome God’s challenge to search deeper
so you can live in a greater reality of life and God.

When your reality of life or God is
challenged, remember Hebrews 11:6…

And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must
believe that he exists and that he rewards
those who earnestly seek him.

Always believe God exist
 because if you seek Him
you will find Him.
Deuteronomy 4:29

Always believe God is just and rewards.
Galatians 6:9; John 10:10

2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV…

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen,
but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal.
