Covid-19 When Life is Risky “Mystery” Point 5

Covid-19
When Life is Risky “Mystery” Point 5

There is a mystery killer out there
But there is also the mystery of life
It is not just a Pandemic movie any more, it is real
Just as there is a worldwide killer there is a worldwide Giver of Life
Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 11:5
As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother's womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
the Maker of all things.
What was a mystery to Solomon is now revealed through Jesus Christ
the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:26-27
The mystery of God is full of riches
The mystery of God is full of hope
Understanding the mystery can only be understood if Christ is in you

When Life is Risky “Mystery” Point 5

For some, quarantine has been a time
to binge on the best Pandemic Movies.

Sitting at home watching a movie,
a mystery, can be enjoyable.

But for all of us a real life mystery
is being played out worldwide.

The definition of “Mystery”…

Something that is difficult or
impossible to understand or explain.

Covid-19 fits this definition…

Its beginning, its spread,
its effects, its control.

If we go out of our house,
we deal with the mystery of
where is this unseen killer.

Could my best friend be a
carrier or could I be a carrier?

When will life get back to normal,
or will our lives be changed forever?

The mystery is real.

It is difficult to understand.

Maybe impossible to explain.

We live in such an unreal world where Christmas
is about a bearded man in a red suit.

Where Easter is about eggs and bunnies.

It seems we like to live in
mystery rather than reality.

The Corona virus has made
the mystery movies real.

We cannot close our eyes or turn off the TV.

There is a real pandemic.

A real mystery that can kill you.

We cannot continue to live in mystery.

There is also another mystery.

A mystery difficult or impossible to explain.

It is the mystery of God.

Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 11:5…

As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother's womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
the Maker of all things.

We no longer need to live in mystery.

The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations,
but is now disclosed to the saints.
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles
the glorious riches of this mystery,
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1:26-27

The mystery of God is full of riches.

The mystery of God is full of hope.

Understanding the mystery can only
be understood if Christ is in you…

My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love,
so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding,
in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Colossians 2:2-3

The mystery of the Corona virus is real
and so is the mystery of God.

As important as it is for us to find
the answers to the Corona virus…

It is more important to find the
answers to the mystery of God.

If Christ is in you all the hidden treasures
of wisdom and knowledge are in you.

1 Corinthians 2:12-16 says it this way…

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.  The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
"For who has known the mind of the Lord
that he may instruct him?"
But we have the mind of Christ.

Mystery Solved!

Scripture Reading

Ecclesiastes 11:1-6

Cast your bread upon the waters,
for after many days you will find it again.
2 Give portions to seven, yes to eight,
for you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.
3 If clouds are full of water,
they pour rain upon the earth.
Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north,
in the place where it falls, there will it lie.
4 Whoever watches the wind will not plant;
whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

5 As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother's womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
the Maker of all things.

6 Sow your seed in the morning,
and at evening let not your hands be idle,
for you do not know which will succeed,
whether this or that,
or whether both will do equally well.
