Covid-19
I Pray That You May Enjoy Good Health
As we walk through
this pandemic season lets show others we care
Pray for good health
and that all will go well with our friends and others
Let people know you
are praying for them
When you are saying
your “good byes” think of saying “be healthy”
Remember to pray, it
is the greatest gift you can give
Jesus went about
healing the sick as He proclaimed the message of truth
Jesus is the Way, the
Truth, and the Life
He is the one who
answers our prayers so
“You may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you,
even as your soul is getting along well.”
I Pray That You May
Enjoy Good Health
I love the words of 3rd John 2-4.
John is writing strictly a
personal letter not a doctrine.
This greeting is so warm and compassionate.
You see John deeply cares for Gaius.
To my dear friend
Gaius,
whom I love in the
truth.
3 John 1
You can feel the connection as John
doesn’t address Gaius by name,
but as a friend…
“Dear friend”
John wants his dear friend to know
how he cares for him when he says…
“I pray that you”
John let his friend know he
takes time to pray for him.
Prayer should always be meaningful.
When we pray we should take
that time with God very serious.
When others pray for us,
we should consider
that as a great gift.
It is like your friend went to the most
extravagant store and the farthest distance
to get something from God for you.
What John asked for can really be appreciated
in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
As I get older I find more of my
friends appreciating this greeting…
“I pray that you may
enjoy good health.”
Praying for good
health.
They say if you don’t have
your health nothing else matters.
Paul says…
Therefore we do not lose
heart.
Though outwardly we
are wasting away,
yet inwardly we are
being renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians
4:16
It is a fact these bodies with age
lose their immune system and strength.
When we are unhealthy, we realize
how wonderful health really is.
So this prayer to
enjoy good health is powerful.
John also prays…
“and that all may go
well with you”
This is the Shalom Prayer,
the Hebrew prayer for peace.
Peace for things to be in order, to be full.
John finishes verse 2 with…
“even as your soul is
getting along well.”
John is not making this a conditional prayer.
It might better be said this way…
“even as [I know] your
soul
keeps well and
prospers.”
3 John 2 AMP
There is still the connection between the
inward soul and the outward body.
And John recognized
the healthy
soul of his friend, Gaius.
The evidence of a healthy soul is truth.
When truth is in the soul, the
heart and mind of a person…
There is health.
Truth is honesty, integrity.
Truth gives the quality of the state of being.
The only way to have a quality of life
is to have truth and walk in it.
That is why John says…
I have no greater joy than to hear that
my children are
walking in the truth.
Verse 4
As we walk through this pandemic
season lets show others we care.
Pray for good health and that all will
go well with our friends and others.
Let people know you are praying for them.
When you are saying your “good byes”…
Think of saying “be
healthy”.
Remember to pray, it is the

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
He is the one who answers our prayers so…
“You may enjoy good

that all may go well
with you,
even as your soul is getting along well.”
Scripture Reading
3 John 2-4 NIV
2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and
that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 It
gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell about your faithfulness
to the truth and how you continue to walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy
than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
3 John 2-4 TLB
2 Dear friend, I am praying that all is well with you and
that your body is as healthy as I know your soul is. 3 Some of the brothers
traveling by have made me very happy by telling me that your life stays clean
and true and that you are living by the standards of the Gospel. 4 I could have
no greater joy than to hear such things about my children.
