Coronavirus
Jesus Will Come
Summer of 2019 would
have seemed to be a normal time
But the end of 2019
brought unbelievable change to the world
Loss of health, stay
at home orders, loss of income and death
We are looking for a
Coronavirus vaccine
A vaccine that will
save the world from destruction
This reality brings
another reality to mind
Sin is infecting the
world like the Coronavirus
Bringing fear,
destruction and death
But a vaccine has
come, Jesus the Son of God died for our sins
And He is coming back
to disinfect the world
By creating a New
Heaven and a New Earth
So what should we do?
…let us consider how
we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up
meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one
another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews
10:24-25
Love and do good
deeds
Jesus Will Come
Summer of 2019 would have
seemed to be a normal time.
Around the world people were going to work,
eating at restaurants,
going to church and sporting events.
People were making plans for high school
and college seniors and their families were
making plans for the big Graduation Day.
Vacation were planned to the city that never sleeps
and Disney where your dreams come true.
Wedding plans and anniversary plans
were filling hearts with expectation.
But something happened,
something unexpected…
A tiny little virus said to be 10,000 the size
of a period in this sentence changed the world.
This invisible virus, to the
naked eye, called Corona.
The word Corona means…
A part of the body resembling or likened to a crown.
This virus 10,000th the size of a period with
crown like features in 2020 is ruling the earth.
This tiny virus is said to have started in
Wuhan, China, from an infection in a
food market or a laboratory.
Either way the spread was from one person.
From late 2019, to the time of this writing,
there is 3,084,740
worldwide cases,
212,516 deaths and 22,225 new cases in
the last 24 hours worldwide according
to worldometers and growing.
Although it is the start of May, 2020, and
America is trying to reopen by easing the
stay at home orders, fear of the spread is still real.
Think about the changes in the last 6 month.
For most of us this is only compared
to some end of the world movie.
But this is real across the globe.
The Corona king is
ruling
the earth with destruction.
We are told we will face this virus next
year and our only hope is a vaccine.
The Bible warns us of a day
when the world will end.
In many ways it will be just as much a
surprise and just as real as the Corona pandemic.
A true King…
One who will be
crowned KING of kings.
My looking forward to the coming of the
Lord seems to be more real as I see
the Coronavirus pandemic unfold.
I do not take any joy, but grieve over the
human suffering this virus has caused.
In the same way we should not find any joy,
but grieve over the
human suffering of sin…
The injustice that takes untold
lives and creates great suffering.
Just like the need for a vaccine
for the Coronavirus is needed…
We need a vaccine for sin.
None of us expected this Corona Pandemic
in the summer of 2019, it came unexpectedly.
We are all looking for a vaccine.
The pandemic of sin has been changing
the world and we need a vaccine.
So also will be the coming of the Lord…
So you also must be ready, because the
Son of Man
will come at an hour when you do not
expect him.
Therefore keep watch, because you do
not
know on what day your Lord will come.
Matthew 24:42
Matthew 24:42
The
vaccine for sin has
come
and is coming again.
Jesus
died for our sin to
cleans
us from all unrighteousness…
If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins and purify
us from all
unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
This is what Christ did for us in His first coming.
In His second coming He will disinfect the earth.
2 Peter 3:10
The Coronavirus is
real and
so is the coming of the Lord.
So what should we do?
…let us consider how
we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up
meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one
another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews
10:24-25
Keep up the good deeds as you look up.
When these things
begin to take place,
stand up and lift up
your heads,
because your
redemption is drawing near.
Luke 21:28
Believe it or not Jesus is coming soon.
He will cleans the earth He created by
creating a New Heaven and a New Earth…
Where everything will
be right again.
But in keeping with
his promise we are looking
forward to a new
heaven and a new earth,
the home of
righteousness.
2 Peter 3:13
Scripture Reading
2 Peter 3:3-13 NIV
3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days
scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will
say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died,
everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 5 But they
deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the
earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of
that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and
earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction
of ungodly men.
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the
Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The
Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is
patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to
repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The
heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and
the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind
of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you
look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about
the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.
13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a
new earth, the home of righteousness.
Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV
let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love
and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the
habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see
the Day approaching.
