The Main Thing To Keeping the Main Thing

The Main Thing

To Keeping the Main Thing

The main thing is the most important thing

With so many aspects of life to balance – work, relationships, the pursuit of personal passions –
it’s no wonder that the main thing often gets lost amidst
the lengthy “To-Do List” and the impromptu “Must - Do’s”

Therefore the main thing needs to be the thing that fuels us,
motivates us, and keeps us engaged and interested in life

We must remember to keep the main thing the main thing

We need to stay in relationship with the main thing in all we do

Doing life well comes from our relationship with the Author of Life

To Keeping the Main Thing

The main thing is what is most important.

It is the core, the bottom line, the crux.

It is where things start and where things end.

With so many aspects of life to balance – work, relationships,
the pursuit of personal passions – it’s no wonder that
the main thing often gets lost amidst the lengthy
“To-Do List” and the impromptu “Must - Do’s”.

Therefore the main thing needs to be the
thing that fuels us, motivates us, and
keeps us engaged and interested in life.

God became the Author of human life when He
breathed into Adam and he became a living being.

Jesus said…

 I came that you might
have life and have it to the full.

Jesus even made the bold statement…

“I am the way, the truth and the life.”

So if God is the main thing
what does that mean to me?

It means that every aspect
of life comes from God.

There is not anything that relates to life
that God does not feed or supply its life.

For Jesus to say…

“I am the way, the truth and the life”

You and I should be able to
find every answer to life in Him.

Jesus’ statement has to be speaking to
more than Eternal Life after we die.

He has to have every answer to every aspect of life.

So to make the main thing the main thing
we must turn to God with our questions.

Google is a great search engine, but every search
in life must find its answer in the Wisdom of God.

So the first thing we must do to make
the main thing the main thing is to put our
trust in the Main Thing to be the main thing.

For some of us this is a process in order to
establish confidence in a God we cannot see.

We must start with trust or faith
that God is who He says He is.

The main thing must not be
a formula, but a relationship.

I like math because 2 + 2 = 4.

I like it when answers are always the same.

Although there are formulas and order to
the universe God created for us to live in,
He designed life for relationships.

Love is at the core of who God
is and how God made us to live.

To make the main thing the main thing
we must be in love with the Main Thing.

When I made Sandy the main person in my life
everything in my life changed from that point.

Every aspect of my life centers around my wife.

Because I believe God said…

“It is not good for man to be alone” and
“What so every God has joined together let no man separate”

Sandy is not the main thing,
nor my marriage, God is.

My relationship with God gives me
the wisdom I need to be a good husband.

Our relationship with God will give
us the wisdom for every aspect of life.

With so many aspects of life to balance –
work, relationships, the pursuit of personal passions

With all the To - Do List and Must – Do’s
We must remember to keep the main thing
the main thing, we need to stay in
relationship with the Main Thing in all we do.

This is best done if we take time at the
start of the day and the end of the day in a
place with no distractions to be with God.

It is in those times of prayer and the scriptures
that you will find God putting in your spirit the
things you will need that day.

When evening comes you will discover how
to evaluate how to turn the good into better.
