The Main Thing The Kingdom of God

The Main Thing

The Kingdom of God

The main thing is eternal
Life on earth is short lived, live now as God intends you to live it in Heaven
The point is this, if you want the necessary things of food, drink and clothing
Seek Kingdom Principles to obtain them
Take the path of Righteousness to obtain your needs and desires
Learn it now, because it is the only way it works in Heaven

The Kingdom of God

Keeping the main thing the main thing
we must recognize what is the main thing.

First, we must recognize
the main thing is a person…

God, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit.

The main thing must be first and Jesus,
the main person, tells us what the main
thing is and its place in our lives.

“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness”

The main thing must be the first thing.

Jesus tells us we must “seek first”.

The main thing has to be looked for,
it has to be discovered, it has to be found.

Jesus earlier in Mathew 6
tells us where we are to seek.

Pray…
Our Father who is in Heaven
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
In earth as it is in Heaven

The main thing is in Heaven and
when we find it, it comes to earth.

Jesus tells us why the main thing is
so hard for us to keep it the main thing.

"Therefore I tell you, do
not worry about your life.”

Worry about life…

There is good reason to worry about life.

Life is all we have.

Life is fragile.

Life is limited.

Life is so wonderful
we all want more of it.

We want the best life we can get.

All of this can cause us
to focus on our life first.

Making our life the main thing.

Jesus does not disregard our need
for eating and drinking or clothing.

Jesus tells us our life is more valuable
than the life of birds and flowers and
their life is taken care of by God.

So if God cares so much for things less
valuable then us, He will take care of us also.

Jesus tells us the main thing is not the
external things even though they are important.

The Kingdom of God is
about eternal things, eternal life.

The things that will last forever
because they are the right things.

Righteousness is the right thing.

Seeking the right things and doing
them will always bring blessing.

There are a lot of external
things we need and desire.

But they are not the main thing.

When we seek the Kingdom
first we discover the right way.

A way to abundant life.

When we seek the Kingdom first
we discover better ways to do life.

In the end it will not be the
external things that matter.

What will matter is peace and joy.

We know the external things are temporary.

But the main thing is eternal.

Life on earth is short lived, live now
as God intends you to live it in Heaven.

The point is this, if you want the necessary
things of food, drink and clothing…

Seek Kingdom Principles to obtain them.

Take the path of Righteousness
to obtain your needs and desires.

Learn it now, because it is the
only way it works in Heaven.

Scripture Reading

Matthew 6:25-34 NIV

25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
