Mighty Men Heart of Gratitude

Mighty Men
Heart of Gratitude

David saw God’s power working in his life
He also saw the great mercy and forgiveness of the Lord
David’s life had many hardships but those difficult times
Did not keep him from having a heart of gratitude
David did not say, Why God?
But, How God?
David kept sight of the sovereignty of God
No wonder the warriors who followed David became Mighty Men
How about you?
 Can you praise God in the storm as well as times of peace?

Heart of Gratitude

Becoming a mighty person for God,
 you will need to know what He wants you to do.

Then you will need to do it.

We are told what the “will” of God is for us.

What we are to “do” for God.

You don’t have to fast or even pray to
find out what God wants you to do.

It is so simple, yet, seems to
be very hard at times to do.

This thing God wants you to do is something we
are to do every day in every situation we are in.

What is God’s will for you?

“Give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV

You have to be a conqueror of your
emotions to have a heart of gratitude.

David was a man of gratitude.

Much of the Psalms were written by David.

Throughout the Psalms you will find David giving
thanks and encouraging others to give thanks to God.

One of those Psalms is…

Psalm 100 NIV

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

David was a man of praise with a vision of
praise being lifted to God throughout the earth.

David tells us the appropriate way
to come into the Lord’s presences…

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

Jesus in His teaching on how to
enter before God in Prayer says…

"'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,”
Matthew 6:9 NIV

This is an expression of praise recognizing God’s
holiness and power before we make our requests.

David’s heart was full of vision to see on Mount Zion
praise and thanksgiving going up to the Lord 24/7.

David set aside great wealth for the sole
purpose of building a temple on Mount
Zion which his son, Solomon, built.

David saw God’s power working in his life.

He also saw the great mercy
and forgiveness of the Lord.

David’s life had many hardships.

But those difficult times did not keep him
from having a heart of gratitude.

David did not say…

 Why God?

But…

How God?

David kept sight of the sovereignty of God.

No wonder the warriors who
followed David became Mighty Men.

How about you?

 Can you praise God in the storm,
as well as times of peace?
