America What is Your Vote Self-Govern

America What is Your Vote

Self-Govern

Inscripted on the Pilgrim Monument are the words of
Governor William Bradford, Pilgrim of the
Mayflower, signer of the Mayflower Compact.

"Thus out of small beginnings greater things have
been produced by His hand that made all things of
nothing and gives being to all things that are;
and as one small candle may light a thousand,
 so the light here kindled hath shone unto many,
yea in some sort to our whole nation;
let the glorious name of Jehovah have all praise."

As important as your vote is unless you
and I kindle the light of God in others
America’s light of liberty will soon go out.

102 men women and children sailed the Mayflower.

The men of the Mayflower saw the need of a civil government.

All the men drafted and signed The Mayflower Compact.

They laid out the purpose of their mission.

“Having undertaken for the Glory of God
and advancement of the Christian Faith”

They agreed they would govern and
enact laws for the good of the Colony,
and they promised to submit and obey.

In 1802, John Quincy Adams described the agreement as
“the only instance in human history of that positive, original,
social compact” and it is popularly believed to have influenced
the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

America’s self-government is what gives us our liberty and freedom.

August 1, 1889, the National Monument to our Fathers,
formally known as the Pilgrim Monument was built.

Self-governance has become very difficult to understand but this
monument describes what Self-governance meant to the Pilgrims.

The tallest statue on the monument is that of
Faith with her right hand pointing towards
heaven and her left hand clutching the Bible.

There are four other statues, seated figures emblematical
of the principles upon which the Pilgrims founded their
Commonwealth; counter-clockwise from the east are
Morality, Law, Education, and Liberty.

Each was carved from a solid block of granite,
posed in the sitting position upon chairs with a
high relief on either side of minor characteristics.
Under "Morality" stand "Prophet" and "Evangelist";
under "Law" stand "Justice" and "Mercy";
under "Education" are "Youth" and "Wisdom";
and under "Liberty" stand
"Tyranny Overthrown" and "Peace".

For self-government to work there must
be a faith in God according to the Bible.

When we come to faith it is the
laws on our hearts that change us.

Morality then becomes the thing that guides us.

Under Morality stands the “Prophet” and “Evangelist”.
  Unless we proclaim God and His Truth,
Morality will decline and self-
governance and self-control will be cast off.

It is our duty as a self-government
people to vote for our representation.

But if we want self-government that leads to Liberty
we must do the work of an evangelist and share
the truth about God and His Word so all will find Faith.

From Faith and Morality the next statue
is Law, God’s law brings Justice to “all”.

The next stature tells us we must
Educate our Youth with Wisdom.

And the last statue is “Liberty” liberty that
overcomes Tyranny and produces Peace.

Governor William Bradford Pilgrim of the
Mayflower signer of the Mayflower Compact said…

"Thus out of small beginnings greater things have
been produced by His hand that made all things of
nothing and gives being to all things that are;
and as one small candle may light a thousand,
so the light here kindled hath shone unto many,
yea in some sort to our whole nation;
let the glorious name of Jehovah have all praise."

As important as your vote is unless you
and I kindle the light of God in others
America’s light of liberty will soon go out.

Scripture Reading NIV

 Matthew 28:18-20
 "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Galatians 5:22-24
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is … self-control.
Against such things there is no law.
