The Blessing
By William M. Self, Sr.
The more the Lord’s name is on your life
The more blessings you will receive
"So they will put
my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them."
Number 6:27
This may sound elementary and run
the risk of being too simple.
Numbers 6 the blessing God told Moses to have
Aaron and the priest to speak over the people…
This blessing comes from the “Lord”.
The Hebrew word Yehovah (yeh-ho-vaw')…
(the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah,
Jewish
national name of God: OT:3068 Strongs
The Lord personally spoke this to Moses.
It is…
"The Lord bless”
“The Lord make”
“The Lord turn”
Why is this so important?
Is it so we know where the
blessing comes from?
God tells us the purpose.
He spells it out very clearly…
"So they will put
my name on the Israelites."
God wants His name to be upon His people.
God wants every
person who belongs
to Him to reveal His name.
God wants to be recognized by the
blessings He puts on
His people.
We then, who want the blessing of
God, should want God’s name to
be upon everything in our lives.
Israel was blessed because God’s
name was lifted over the nation.
No one can think of Israel
without thinking of God.
The blessing of God on America
came because men and women
put God’s name on it…
“In God We Trust”
The blessing of God comes so that His
name will be upon what He blesses.
So the more His name is lifted up,
the more His name is revealed...
The more the blessing.
Do people see the name of the Lord on you?
