Making His Face Shine
What makes your face shine?
What causes your eyes to open and your face to smile?
Grief darkens the countenance of the face…
But joy illuminates it.
There is always something going wrong…
Something to be sad about…
Some burden to carry.
If you are like me, that is not how we want to live.
We look for something to get excited about.
We want to find hope and joy.
Something that will put a smile on our face.
When we fine that source of joy,
we respond with
gratitude.
When you put a smile on someone’s face,
they want to do something in return for you.
When you put a frown on their face,
they want to cut you
off.
There are always things to grieve the heart of God.
The Bible tells us at times He though
it would be better if He had not created us.
God has always been looking for those
who would cause His face to illuminate.
Those who would come to Him with love and faith…
Noah was one who illuminated God’s face. Genesis 6:6-8
Moses illumined the face of God. Exodus
32:9-11
Abraham illumined the face of God. Genesis 18:16 ff
God wants to bless His people.
He says…
“The Lord make his
face shine upon you
and be gracious to you.”
When you and I come to God, we should
focus on making the face of God shine.
Give Him respect, show your
love and confidence in Him.
Let Him see your humility and honor…
And aggressive, willing to be His servant
to do whatever needs to be done.
When we get close enough to see His face, we become
close enough to become one with Him in purpose.
That will put a smile on God and us.

make his face shine upon you
and be
gracious to you;

turn his face toward you
and give you
peace." '
