Fruit of Repentance Seeds Come From Fruit

Fruit of Repentance

Seeds Come From Fruit

God’s command to man was simple

Be fruitful and increase in number

If you understand the definition of a fruit

You will understand that you cannot be fruitful without increasing

Fruit, the fleshy or dry ripened ovary of a flowering plant, enclosing the seed or seeds.

Fruit has seeds

The word Increase means Replenish and Multiply that is what seeds do

God’s command also included Ruling over everything God had made on earth

Replenish, multiply, good seeds by producing good fruit

Seeds Come From Fruit

From the very beginning

 God saw what He created

was good and He blessed it.

We read these words when

God made Adam and Eve…

God blessed them and said to them,

"Be fruitful and increase in number.

 Genesis 1:28

God’s blessing was on mankind.

Think about that.

 You cannot bless without adoration,

praise, love and enjoyment.

God did all that.

 And despite ourselves,

He still does.

God’s command to man was simple…

Be fruitful and increase in number.

If you understand the definition

of a fruit, you will understand that you

cannot be fruitful without increasing.

Fruit

The fleshy or dry ripened ovary of a flowering plant,

enclosing the seed or seeds.

Fruit has seeds.

The word Increase means…

 Replenish and Multiply

that is what seeds do.

God’s command also included Ruling

over everything God had made on earth.

Replenish, multiply, good seeds

 by producing good fruit.

Our fruit comes from our lips…

Proverbs 12:14 NIV

From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things

as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.

Proverbs 13:2-3 NIV

2 From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things,

but the unfaithful have a craving for violence.

3 He who guards his lips guards his life,

but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

Proverbs 18:20-21 NIV

20 From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled;

with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.

21 The tongue has the power of life and death,

and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Fruit comes from our deeds…

Isaiah 3:10-11 NIV

10 Tell the righteous it will be well with them,

for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.

11 Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them!

They will be paid back for what their hands have done.

Fruit comes from our plans…

Jeremiah 6:19 NIV

19 Hear, O earth:

I am bringing disaster on this people,

the fruit of their schemes,

because they have not listened to my words

and have rejected my law.

Fruit come from our Righteousness…

Hosea 10:12-13 NIV

12 Sow for yourselves righteousness,

reap the fruit of unfailing love,

and break up your unplowed ground;

for it is time to seek the LORD,

until he comes

and showers righteousness on you.

13 But you have planted wickedness,

you have reaped evil,

you have eaten the fruit of deception.

Because you have depended on your own strength.

 Hebrews 13:15-16 NIV

Sums up the description of what our fruit should look like…

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise — the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Through Jesus

We do not produce good fruit on our own.

Continually offer to God…

Never stop producing for the Lord.

Fruit of lips…

Not speech willed with “Me” and “I”

because it is all about Jesus.

Do good and to share…

Simple actions to and for others.

Sacrifices God is pleased…

Is this sacrifice so hard?

Our fruit carries seeds.

 Seeds that reproduce us.

Where the seed ends up

and where it grows…

You and I may never know.

Every seed good or bad has

the potential to grow and

reproduce its own kind.

Scripture Reading

Luke 3:8 NIV

8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

Hebrews 13:15-16 NIV

15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise — the fruit of lips that confess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
