Fruit of Repentance
The Gift of Repentance
God does not reject us when we come to Him with our sins
As some people do when they find out the things we have done
God and the heavens rejoice over repentant sinners
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7
Forgiveness is a gift to those who repent
You might say the gift of repentance is forgiveness
God gives the gift of repentance
The Gift of Repentance
Have you ever done something
that you thought God or someone
else would never forgive you of?
I have meet people who thought they
committed the unpardonable sin.
People filled with grief and no hope.
These people have given up on life.
For some of us, we seem to keep falling back
into the same old sins and get to a place
where we are afraid to ask God to forgive
us again because we know we will fail again.
I think all of us know that without
the power of the Holy Spirit in us…
We will fall back into the weaknesses
of the flesh and this world.
Those who reject the Holy Spirit may
change certain habits in their life…
But never follow Jesus on
the path to eternal life.
Jesus gave only two words to those who
came to Him looking for eternal life…
“Follow me”
This is the repentance of turning from this
world turning from the works of the flesh,
to a Christ like walk.
But many of us feel repentant
but unaccepted by God.
Unless we know our repentance
is received…
Unless we know we have been forgiven…
We will live in misery.
You and I need to know God
will receive our repentance.
For someone to forgive
someone, is a gift.
They don’t have to forgive you.
If they forgive you…
It is their choice.
Think about these verses in light of God
giving forgiveness to the repentant…
God’s gift of repentance, not in a way
that you cannot repent without the gift,
but that when you repent…
God gives a gift for repentance.
Acts 5:32

Acts 11:18

2 Timothy 2:25
Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,
God does not make it hard for us to repent with love He prepares the path to go to him as sinners
Romans 2:4
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

You might say the gift of repentance…
Is forgiveness.
God gives the gift of repentance.
