The Covid Virus has heighten the fear of death
Jesus said
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:29
We are all thinking about dying
Shouldn’t we share with others our loving God has an antidote for sin

My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
James’ main point of his letter is “True Faith”
“Faith without works is dead.”
True Faith will care about others’ “soul” to save them from eternal death
Saved From Death
The Covid Virus has changed our lives.
World Governments have changed
the way their countries function.
And almost a year after the invasion of
Covid, it is still hard to find toilet paper.
An enemy has attacked.
The health organizations and media
from the start projected death tolls.
We were told that if we contracted
Covid and did not die…
We could spread it to some
loved one that could die.
The threat of death caused
business to shut down,
workers refuse to go to work.
We have seen…
The world is afraid to die.
I was talking to a very dear friend of mine
and we were talking about Covid.
She said I don’t want to get it
because I don’t want to die.
A couple of days later she got Covid.
The fear of death is on our minds every day.
We are afraid of what will kill the body.
We live as if this life is all there is
and when we die that is the final end.
Jesus reminds us that death is
more than the death to the body…
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body
but cannot kill the soul.
Rather, be afraid of the One who can
destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28
There is something more
frightening than Covid…
Covid can kill the body,
but that is not the end.
Sin can kill the soul.
James ends his letter reminding us we can be
saved from sin and the errors of our ways.
He reminds us of the importance to turn
sinners from the errors of their ways.
Turning from the errors of our ways is more
than making this life better and if
that was all it did, it would be worth it.
But Jesus tells us there is more
than this life and the grave.
There is an eternity and in eternity there
are only two placed for our soul to reside.
The fear of Covid has motivated
all of us to make changes.
Changes so we don’t die
and we don’t kill others.
If we are making changes for the saving
of the body which will someday die…
Shouldn’t we also be warning others
of the errors of their ways to
save them from death of the soul?
Jesus warns us and tells us
to get the message out…
"Whoever acknowledges me before men,
I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.
But whoever disowns me before men,
I will disown him before my Father in heaven.
Matthew 10:32-33
We have a heavenly Father who
takes care of the sparrows and says…
So don't be afraid;
you are worth more than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:31
We are all thinking about dying.
Shouldn’t we share with others our
loving God has an antidote for sin.
Don’t miss the importance
of James’ closing words…
My brothers,
if one of you should wander from the truth
and someone should bring him back,
remember this:
Whoever turns a sinner from the error
of his way will save him from death
and cover over a multitude of sins.
James’ main point of his letter is “True Faith”…
“Faith without works is dead.”
True Faith will care about others’ “soul”
to save them from eternal death.
