Thinking Reality

Thinking
Reality

Reality will test your knowledge
Reality will test your perceptions
Your journey through life is a trip to reveal reality
The Holy Spirit works to open your eyes to what God sees
An eclipse of heaven and earth
Just as the world is the same today when you woke up as it was yesterday
So is heaven the same and God wants to open your eyes to it
Some day we will wake up from our sleep
And the reality of this world will be changed
May our understanding of that reality today keep us
From being shocked when we wake up on that day

Reality

Reality is the sum or aggregate
of all that is real or existent,
as opposed to that which
is merely imaginary.

I can remember as a kindergartener sitting in
class looking at the school clock on the wall.

I saw myself looking from the back side
of the clock at the children in the class.

I thought I was real and the class was not.

I was living in a world of reality and
the class could not see that world.

I think all of us have questioned reality.

Reality may be the hardest thing to define.

The concepts of reality will
burn out even the strongest mind.

There is a big question
looming over all of us…

Is what I call real, Reality?

You got up this morning and the room was
the same as it was when you went to bed.

The world around you is the same
as it was the morning before.

Although for some of us who wake
up not knowing what day it is,
the objects around you are just
as real as the day before.

In kindergarten I had a best
friend His name was Jesus.

This knowledge of God caused me
to see reality different than others.

My world was more than the things I
could see, touch, taste, smell, and hear.

My reality included an invisible world.

Some day you and I will go to bed
and not open our eyes to this world.

We will see reality very differently.

Six of my seven grandchildren
attend Monclova Christian Academy.

Every year the students do a spring concert.

Every year I become emotional as I see
these young people do an excellent job.

To see these children getting an excellent
education and the developing of skills
makes me so grateful my grandchildren
have this wonderful opportunity.

This year as I watched the children perform,
I thought of the knowledge they
had received at the school.

Also on my mind is my oldest
granddaughter, Kylii, who just graduated.

That is a reality hard for me to embrace.

You know what they say when they graduate…

They are now going out into the real world.

How true it is these children are getting a
great education, good knowledge that will serve
them as a foundation for the rest of their lives.

As I sat at the concert I thought
these children are taught knowledge.

And it will be the experiences throughout the rest
of their lives that they will learn what reality is.

Like heaven, we can learn all about it,
but until we get there we will only have a
small understanding of the reality of heaven.

God is always at work in
our lives to show us reality.

Every experience good or bad
is an opportunity for God to turn your
knowledge into understanding of reality.

If you have read Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount,
the beatitudes or any other parts of the Bible,
you will find God’s description of reality
challenging your perception of reality.

This is why God’s Word says…

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,
 it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
 Hebrews 4:12

God’s Word is more than knowledge,
 it is alive and active.

All Scripture is God-breathed.
 2 Timothy 3:16

Finding reality starts with believing God exists.

Without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must
believe that he exists and that he rewards
those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

Reality is only understood as we by faith
embrace the invisible as well as the visible.

By faith we understand that the universe was
formed at God's command, so that what
is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Hebrews 11:3

So as you wake up in the morning seeing
the reality of your world, realize God is
working in your mind, taking your know-
ledge and exposing it to things unseen…

To help you understand the real reality.

A reality of not just the earth and world around you…

But Heaven the Kingdom of God.

Through the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of God is
within you and the understanding of that reality
comes as we allow the Spirit of God to lead
us and open our eyes to the world we cannot see.

What does the reality of heaven eclipsing earth look like?

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:9-10

As children graduate from High School
with the knowledge to face reality…

May we take the Knowledge
of God’s Word to face reality.

Help us Holy Spirit to understand
true reality as we experience life.

Scripture Reading

Hebrews 4:12 NIV
12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hebrews 11:1-6 NIV
11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.

3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

4 By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.

5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

John 14:25-27 NIV
26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
