You look like your Dad!
Six years ago on December 31, 2008,
my fourth granddaughter, Mackenzie, was born.
Four pounds of cute!
Sarah (Mackenzie’s mother), Sandy (my wife) and I
went down to the ICU Nursery for the first time together.
Three generations of women.
The first conversation was who Mackenzie looked like.
Every feature of Mackenzie was examined by Sarah and
Sandy.
I kept waiting to hear if they saw any similarities of
me in Mackenzie.
The closest was Sarah said, “She has the looks of a Self.”
God said on the sixth day,
He created people, a man and a woman
and He said, “We
were created in His image.”
You and I look like our Heavenly Father.
Our Father in Heaven is like us.
In John 3:16, we see God loved the people.
In Psalms 5:5, God hates all who do wrong.
We can see that God is
kind, compassionate, and He can get jealous.
When we look for the attributes of our Creator,
we see an image of ourselves…
With only one difference
Every emotion is pure, under control, and acted out
perfectly.
Yes, our Creator God, can think and feel just like you
and I.
Many have said that women received a better ability to
feel
and a greater portion of the emotional side of God.
While men, received a greater portion of logic.
Women are motivated by feelings
and men are motivated by logic.
These are wonderful features of our Creator God in us.
But with us,
feelings is a great
servant
but a bad master.
And logic is
a great servant
but a bad master.
You and I were created in the image of our Creator.
When we are “born again” in the way that Jesus speaks
of
when talking to Nicodemus (John 3),
we than can call Creator God, our Father.
Every person is a part of God’s creation,
but you can not be apart of God’s family until you are
“born again.”
God wants each one of us to be born again into His
family,
so He can develop His image in us
as a loving father trains and equips his children.
The greatest compliment you can receive is
“I see Jesus in you.”
That will make our Father God proud!
Scripture Reading
Genesis 1:20-31 NLT
20 And God said,
"Let the waters swarm with fish and other life.
Let the skies be
filled with birds of every kind."
21 So God created
great sea creatures and every sort of fish and every kind of bird.
And God saw that it was good. 22 Then God
blessed them, saying,
"Let the fish
multiply and fill the oceans. Let the birds increase and fill the earth."
23 This all happened
on the fifth day.
24 And God said,
"Let the earth bring forth every kind of animal
— livestock, small animals, and
wildlife." And so it was.
25 God made all sorts
of wild animals, livestock, and small animals,
each able to
reproduce more of its own kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said,
"Let us make people in our image, to be like ourselves.
They will be masters
over all life — the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky,
and all the
livestock, wild animals, and small animals."
27 So God created
people in his own image;
God patterned them
after himself;
male and female he
created them.
28 God blessed them
and told them, "Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.
Be masters over the
fish and birds and all the animals."
29 And God said,
"Look! I have given you the seed-bearing plants throughout the earth and
all the fruit trees for your food.
30 And I have given
all the grasses and other green plants to the animals
and birds for their
food." And so it was.
31 Then God looked
over all he had made, and he saw that it was excellent in every way. This all
happened on the sixth day.
