The Daily News
Looking for some good news?
You may want to start with Creation.
In 6 days,
God created many good things.
He is still doing good things.
God created the earth
and the fullness of it
with a purpose.

For 19 years (1962–81) Walter Cronkite was best
known
as anchorman for the CBS Evening News.
During the heyday of CBS News in
the 1970s and 1980s,
he was
often cited in viewer opinion polls as
"the most trusted man
in America,"
because of his professional experience and kindly
demeanor.
Walter Cronkite closed his CBS news broad cast
each night with the words:
"And THAT'S the way it is!"
Walter could not control the news,
he could only report it.
At the end of each day,
Walter’s report on the day’s events was not always
good:
Vietnam war, Kennedy assassination, Watergate Scandal,
etc.
The end of the day news you and I hear
is usually filled with more bad news than good.
This negative news can eat away
at our faith and hope.
Each day of creation God gave a daily news report.
Each day God said,
“It was good!”
God did not give up on the earth
when sin and bad news
entered the earth.
David said,
“The earth is the Lord’s
and everything in it.”
Psalm 24:1
Also, Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:26 said,
“The earth is the Lord’s
and everything in it.”
God is still making news;
even though you better not expect
to hear it on the evening news.
But you can hear it,
by reading God’s Word.
Our God is not a reporter of the news,
but a controller
of the news!
Walter was considered
the most trusted man in America,
but God is the most trusted
in the universe and of all time!
God is still reporting good news
to those who are tuned in
to the right channel.
Take some time today
to look at the good things
God has created.
Scripture Reading
Genesis 1 NIV
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was
very good.
And there was
evening, and there was morning — the sixth day.
Psalms 24 NIV
24:1 Of David. A
psalm.
The earth is the
LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
2 for he founded it
upon the seas and established it upon the waters.
3 Who may ascend the
hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 He who has clean
hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up
his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.
5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and
vindication from God his Savior.
6 Such is the
generation of those who seek him, who seek your face,
O God of Jacob.
Selah
7 Lift up your heads,
O you gates; be lifted up,
you ancient doors, that
the King of glory may come in. 8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and
mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads,
O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of
glory may come in. 10 Who is he, this King of glory?
The LORD Almighty —
he is the King of glory.
