Teach Us to Number Our
Days
Estimating Your Worth
Romans 12:3
Tells us our net worth
is
according to the
measure of faith
God has given you.
Many of you know I day trade.
I trade Forex and Equity options.
I have gained a lot of knowledge
over the past 4 years.
I can read charts;
draw trend lines;
I understand Stochastic
and MACD.
I won’t bore you with all I know
because that is not important.
All my knowledge is a waste of time
if I don’t have enough confidence
to pull the trigger
and make the trade.
Trading has more to do with your emotions
than it does your knowledge of the markets.
It is the same way with God’s Word.
You can know
the Bible
and hear God’s voice.
But if your emotions get in the way of acting,
it doesn’t do any one good.
Fear keeps me out of great trades.
My heart beats faster as the signals line up.
There is risk!
So the question isn’t
‘How
much you know’?
The question is
‘Are
you acting on what you know’?
God’s Word tells us,
without
faith it is impossible to please God.
Paul tells us,
we
should not think of ourselves
according
to what we know,
but
according to the faith
God
has given us.
Each one of us has been give a measure of faith.
Faith
also comes by hearing the Word of God.
So as we number
our days,
are they filled with fear or faith?
Is what we know being lived out each day?
Scripture
Reading
Romans 12:3-4 NLT
3 As God's messenger,
I give each of you this warning:
Be honest in your estimate of yourselves,
measuring your value
by how much faith God has given you.
Romans 12:3-4 NIV
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of
you:
Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought,
but rather think of yourself with sober judgment,
in accordance with the measure of faith God has
given you.
Hebrews 11:5-6 NIV
6 And without
faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him
must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
