Romans 10 Preachers

 Romans 10

Preachers

Description: Beautiful Feet: Missions - Battle Cry

You and I have feet, the question is how do they look?

Are they covered with the dirt of this world or are they washed clean?

When you bring news into someone’s house

Do you carry the dirt of this world onto their carpet or are your feet clean?

Romans 10:15 tells us how to have beautiful feet

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Remember the Good News, the Message of Christ

The Righteousness that comes by faith, comes by what we speak

Too much of our talk is about the problems

We have the answer

 Let’s proclaim it

If you doubt

Pray that Jesus will wash your feet from the doubts and fears of this world

It is not good enough to have faith in your heart

Faith needs to be spoken and walked out for it to do any good for others

As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame."  Romans 10:10 Isaiah 28:16

Preachers

It has been nearly 2000 years since

Paul wrote the Book of Romans.

The church is now 2000 years old.

The message in Chapter 10 is

about getting the Message out.

The Message that…

For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile —

the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for,

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Romans 10:12-13

The Message went out to the Jewish people.

But we see in the Gospels

Jesus’ teachings being rejected in the Synagogues.

The Righteousness that comes by Faith,

comes by hearing the Message.

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message,

and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

Romans 10:17

Sadly…

But not all the Israelites accepted the Good News.

For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?"

 Romans 10:16

Interesting to see in verses 17 – 21 accounts of

the Old Testament message about Christ’s Message.

Jesus and His Message was rejected

as Jesus went to the Synagogues.

After His death and resurrection,

 the disciples continued to share

the Message of Christ but…

Not all the Israelites accepted the Good News.

The Good News,

the Message that reveals…

The righteousness that is by faith

has been preached to all people

since Christ like never before.

Paul concludes Chapter 10 by saying…

But concerning Israel he says,

"All day long I have held out my hands

to a disobedient and obstinate people."

 Romans 10:21

Our loving God every day

extends His hand to receive

all who call upon Him…

Even disobedient and obstinate people.

Time seems to be more our enemy than our blessing.

Over time the Israelites drifted from the life of Faith

like their father, Abraham.

Over time will we drift?

It has been 2000 years since

the Church was founded on Jesus Christ.

Is our message of…

 righteousness that is by faith”

Still being preached?

And is the Message being believed?

When people hear the Message, do they receive it.

When people are disobedient and obstinate,

God’s hand is reaching out to them every day.

Our loving God cares.

You have heard it said…

We are God’s hands and feet.

So how will people hear

unless someone is proclaiming

or sharing with them?

How will they believe

unless they hear the Message?

Do we care about everyone?

Do we care about people in different cultures?

How can they hear unless

we send those with the Message?

Think about this…

All the problems of the world.

Every little problem to every huge problem

is solved in the Message of Christ.

You have heard the cries around the world

“Save the earth”.

Salvation comes through righteousness.

 Righteousness comes by Faith.

Faith in the Words of God,

 the Message of Christ.

The one who started His earthly ministry

with this declaration…

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me,

because he has anointed me

to preach good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners

and recovery of sight for the blind,

to release the oppressed,

to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

Luke 4:18-19

Peter says…

Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.  You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Then Peter says…

"We are witnesses of everything he did

in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.

                                                                                         Acts 10:34-39

You and I have feet.

Scripture Reading

 Romans 10:4-21 NIV

Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them."   6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."   12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile — the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?"   17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did:

"Their voice has gone out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world."

19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,

"I will make you envious by those who are not a nation;

I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding."

20 And Isaiah boldly says,

"I was found by those who did not seek me;

I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me."

21 But concerning Israel he says,

"All day long I have held out my hands

to a disobedient and obstinate people."
