Grace Reigns Through Righteousness
A good father, or good mother, will pass on
a special benefit of grace to their children.
If a man, or a woman, is honest, giving, good worker, caring…
People will see those qualities in them.
As their children grow,
they will find the respect of the parent(s) on their lives.
The appreciation of those blessed by the parents
will be shown to the children in many ways.
This grace, or favor, the children receive
comes because of the relationship.
Relationships put us in different levels of grace and favor
because of who we are with.
If you are introduced to someone
by a person whose life is recognized for good…
You will have an open door of grace.
Many of us want our picture taken with some celebrity…
Because we want to be identified with their success,
we want some of their favor.
We all need grace, or favor.
We know evil companionship
corrupts good morals.
Who you hang around with
effects the grace and favor you receive.
When I meet a person who claims to be a friend of Jesus…
I naturally give them a greater measure of grace, or favor.
Why, because I know the Righteousness of God.
I know anyone who claims to be a friend of God…
Will have to have a relationship with God.
I have found that people
who claim to have a relationship with God,
have different relationships.
Some are with God all day long.
They are like a bride planning a wedding
with the groom.
Others, like children, are in the place of Godly influence
but have to make the choice…
Whether they want to follow that influence.
Then there are friends of God.
They visit Him from time to time,
and are quick to visit Him in a time of need.
I have also meet those who like to be seen where God is.
They talk about His goodness, but in reality,
they are only trying to build their business…
From the good people
who have a close relationship with God.
Some of these people are what the Bible calls
sheep in wolf’s clothing.
Then there are those who believe in a god.
But take little time to get to know Him.
These people many times try to do good
so that God will bring good on them.
Kind of like…
Obeying the law so you don’t get punished by the lawgiver.
Finally, there are those with no relationship with God…
You could say they are God haters.
They have a negative attitude on God
and people in relationship with Him.
The last verse in Romans 5 says…
…so also grace might reign through righteousness
to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:21
Our relationship with Jesus is a relationship of love.
This love allows us to be in different relationships with Him.
The Bible gives us many names for those relationships, like…
bride, friend, neighbor, etc.
Our relationship is restricted
or effected by one thing…
“Righteousness”
Romans 5:17 says…
God gives the Gift of Righteousness
through Jesus Christ and
this righteousness reigns in life.
The one who receives the Gift of Righteousness
will find righteousness ruling and reigning
throughout that person’s life…
For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ
.
For those receiving the gift,
(the reigning and ruling of God’s righteousness)
they will find “grace”.
For “grace might reign through righteousness”.
Jesus grew in favor or grace with God and man.
Luke 2:52
Grace and favor come in measure
based on relationship and the Reign of Righteousness.
Why did Jesus grow in favor?
Because He grew in wisdom and stature…
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
Luke 2:52
If the Gift of Righteousness will
produce grace in your life…
The ultimate Reign of
Righteousness is to bring you into
an eternal relationship with Him…
To bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:21
Grace and righteousness are not just words.
They are not just gifts locked up in reserve for the day you die,
Grace and righteousness bring daily benefits to us…
When we allow them to reign in our lives.
Allow God’s Gifts through Jesus Christ to reign in your life.
Find the joy of Grace and Righteousness today.
Enthrone them in your life.
Scripture Reading
Romans 5:17 NIV
17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:20-6:1 NIV
20 The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
