Romans 3 None Righteous

Romans 3

None Righteous

Description: Pin on GOD

There is no room for boasting

The Jew had the advantage over the decades because of God’s promise to Abraham

But justification came to the Jew and Gentile alike

“We are justified by faith” not observing the law

God is not the God of the Jews only, but He is the God of the Gentiles, too

This is a message we see over and over again in the New Testament

God loves the whole world

God’s intention is that all should be saved

There is only ONE GOD

God loves all people from every race, every culture, young & old, male & female

The Jews were to be God’s evangelist to the rest of the world

You and I, who have put our faith in Jesus Christ,

Are also called to evangelize the world

Let us not forget, our advantage of having the law or God’s Word,

Does not make us righteous

Only The Gift of Jesus Christ

So share the Gift with others no matter how different they are than you

Because “All have sin and fall short of the Glory of God”

None Righteous

Paul in Romans 3 ties together…

Chapter 1 addressing the sins of the Gentiles

and Chapter 2 the sins of the Jews

Verse 9 says…

What shall we conclude then?

Are we any better? Not at all!

We have already made the charge

that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.

Romans 3:9

Jews and Gentiles are all under sin.

The Law was an advantage to the Jews…

 It revealed sin.

The warning “Thou shall not” on the tables of stone

in which God wrote the commandments.

It was an advantage for the Jews to have God’s laws.

But the Law did not make a Jew or anyone else righteous.

The Law only revealed what unrighteousness and sin was.

God entrusting the Jews with the law, was an advantage.

But it did not mean Jews had an exclusive right to God

and Gentiles had to get their own god.

The lack of faith of Jews or Gentiles dies

not nullifying God’s faithfulness,

that He is true, and righteous.

Therefore, God will judge the world.

God is not the God of the Jews only

and therefore not only their Judge.

But because God is the Creator of all…

 Including the Gentiles.

 He is their Judge, too.

Verse 19 and 20 says…

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

Romans 3:19-20

The whole world is held accountable to God.

Observing the law does not make you righteous.

The Law makes us conscious of sin.

The Law and the Prophets testify to a

righteousness from God.

Verse 21

All have sinned, not just those under the law…

Every person falls short of the Glory of God.

There is not a difference between

Jew and Gentile…

 All have sinned.

Finding God’s Glory, His redemption,

is to put faith in Jesus Christ.

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

 Romans 3:21-25

The Gift of God’s glory and eternal life,

to be redeemed, is a gift to both Jews and Gentiles.

This Gift comes through Jesus Christ

because of what God did…

God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Romans 3:25-26

There is no room for boasting.

The Jew has had the advantage over the decades

because of God’s promise to Abraham.

But justification came to the Jew and Gentile alike

“We are justified by faith” not observing the law.

God is not the God of the Jews only,

but He is the God of the Gentiles, too.

This is a message we see

over and over again in the New Testament.

 God loves the whole world.

God’s intention is that all should be saved.

There is only ONE GOD.

God loves all people…

From every race, every culture, young and old, male and female.

The Jews were to be God’s evangelist

to the rest of the world.

are also called to evangelize the world.

Our advantage of having the Law or God’s Word

 does not make us righteous….

Only The Gift of Jesus Christ.

So share the Gift with others no matter

how different they are than you.

Because…

“All have sin and fall short of the Glory of God.”

Scripture Reading

Romans 3:27-31 NIV

27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. 29 Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
