Calling Where It All Starts

Calling
Where It All Starts

To find the foundation of your Calling or Purpose
You need to go back to the beginning
To the place where we all started from
Creation
The first question we must address is
Does God exist?
The next question is
Why did God create the world?
The short answer is
God created the world for His Glory
He creates you in His image to reveal His Glory
God’s grace is sufficient to turn all our weaknesses into portraits of His Glory
Because of God’s Grace there is no sin
No failure that can keep God from revealing His Glory through you
Your Purpose is not about you and your selfy or selfies
Your Purpose is all about the God who created you and loves you
Let people see you in such a way that they glorify God Matthew 5:16

Where It All Starts

Calling or Purpose has a foundation.

Just like everything else in life
the foundation is very important.

To find the foundation of your Calling or
Purpose you need to go back to the beginning.

To the place where we all started from…

Creation

The first question we must address is…

Does God exist?

The next question is…

Why did God create the world?

The short answer is…

God created the world for His Glory.

Bring my sons from afar and my
daughters from the ends of the earth —
everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made."
Isaiah 43:6-7

What is clear throughout the Bible is…

Man and woman were created
in the image of God…

So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27

“Image”

What is an Image?

It is a reflection, a statue, a copy, representation.

God not only created Adam and Eve
to be an image of God, but all mankind.

We were created to point to the Original…

The Glory of the Original.

God made humans in His image to fill the earth,
so that the earth would be filled
with the images of His Glory.

Look at what the angels were crying in Isaiah 6:3…

"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory."

The earth is full of millions of human image bearers.

Not just humans, but also nature,
a breathtaking world for us to live in.

Why such a vast universe for us to live in?...

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Psalm 19:1

Look out into the universe…

How vast and amazing it is.

God made it to give us a hint of who He is.

The Glory of the universe,
the Glory of humans and
the earth, is not about us.

The Glory is about the Creator God.

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities —
his eternal power and divine nature —
have been clearly seen, being understood
from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
For although they knew God,
they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him
Romans 1:20-21

The sad, tardily is…

Humans have fallen short of their Purpose
to be an image of God’s Glory…

exchanged the glory of the immortal God
for images made to look like mortal man
and birds and animals and reptiles.
Romans 1:23

As beautiful as created things can be to us,
we should not confuse glory with beauty.

I am sure no woman has ever been as
beautiful as the mother of us all, Eve.

And no man more handsome
then the father of us all, Adam.

God’s plan was not to make Himself
beautiful, as if God has need of anything.

To glorify God is different than to beautify.

God did not create us out of any
need or weakness or any deficiency.

He created us out of full strength
and complete sufficiency.

Paul I think said it best…

"My grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect in weakness."
2 Corinthians 12:9

No matter how weak you may feel,
you are in a position to reveal God’s Glory.

Your beauty, your wisdom, your position,
or lack of it, has nothing to do with your Purpose…

“It is Christ in you the hope of glory”
Colossians 1:27

When you and I reduce the universe to just matter…

When we see the world around us as our greatest joy…

When God’s Spirit has left…

The Glory is lost like a blind man walking into a tree.

Your Purpose is not to be empty
but full of the Glory of God…

Full of His Spirit.

We were created in His image
not like a bronze statue, but alive.

He breathed in us and
we became a living soul.

This is the foundation of your Calling and Purpose…

To be the image of God…

 To reveal His Glory.

God made a plan before the creation of
the world for our failure to fulfill the Purpose.

God sent His Son, like us in human
form, to reveal God’s Glory…

 Through Jesus’ life, death,
burial, and resurrection.

We have been given grace.

God’s grace is sufficient to turn all
our weaknesses into portraits of His Glory.

Because of God’s grace there is no sin,
no failure that can keep God from
revealing His Glory through you.

Your Purpose is not about
you and your selfy or selfies.

Your Purpose is all about the God
who created you and loves you.

Let people see you in such
a way that they glorify God.
Matthew 5:16

Romans 1:19-23 NIV
19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
