Family Grandpa Noah

Family
Grandpa Noah

By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. Hebrews 11:7
Think about your Great, Great to the ??? power, Grandfather Noah
Yes, Noah, he was not just some guy that we read about in a book called the Bible
He was your Grandfather
Who showed us how to build an ark to save our family
How are we doing?
Are we in holy fear building an ark to save our family?
What is the pitch that holds everything else together in your family?
I wonder the tone of voice Grandfather Noah used with his family
I wonder how Grandfather Noah kept his anger and frustration under control
I wonder how often he had talks with the family together and one on one
I wonder about the little things that go unnoticed
I want to be like Grandfather Noah, don’t you?
Let’s spend some time thinking about his life because it was maybe the greatest example of building and saving a family that there ever was or will be
“I love you, Grandpa Noah, and miss you.”
“Grandpa Noah, I want to be like you.”

Grandpa Noah

I come from a poor family back ground.

My parents struggled as well
as their parents to make a living.

I have wondered what it would have been like
if my parents and grandparents were able to pass
down homes and businesses and large bank accounts.

Whether you are like me or you have had the
blessing of parents and grandparents passing
down their lives and wealth, think about this…

Think about your Great, Great to
the ??? power, Grandfather Noah.

Yes, Noah was not just some guy that
we read about in a book called the Bible.

He was your Grandfather.

Without your Grandfather Noah, none of us would
be here and your pets and food would not be here.

Your Grandfather Noah, as far as I can tell,
was the greatest family man ever to live.

God was so impressed with him that God
told him the earth would be destroyed…

By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen,
in holy fear built an ark to save his family.
Hebrews 11:7a

This is incredible, your Grandfather Noah
in holy fear built an ark to save his family.

WOW, let those words sink in…

In holy fear built an ark to save his family.

We know what the wooden ark Noah built
looked like, but the ark that saved his family
was much more then gopher wood and pitch.

How did Noah hold his family together?

What did Noah build that saved his family?

Your Grandfather Noah lived in the worst of times.

It was Noah’s faith that saved his family.

In fact the second part of Hebrews 11:7 says…

 Noah’s faith condemned the world.

How does that work?

I thought God condemned the
world by opening the flood gates.

Noah by walking in righteousness
condemned the world.

As the world around him and his family
became more free to do as they pleased…

Noah put his faith in God.
That faith in God gave him an inheritance…

… and became heir of the right-
eousness that comes by faith.

When you walk by faith, you live
according to a way that pleases God.

What is right is what God has designed.

Noah did what was right and
became heir of righteousness.

Noah is your Grandfather don’t you
want the full inheritance from him?

And what does that look like?

First, know there is a way that seems right
to a man but the end is destruction.

Noah got his inheritance of
righteousness from God the Father.

It was not a certificate in a vault,
it was living right every day…

Doing and saying the right things.

Noah believed, by faith that God is the
only one who can reveal what is right.

Noah did what was right.

He built an ark of righteousness that saved
his family long before he built the ark.

Can you image all the times Noah’s kids came
home from their friends next door and said…

“But Johnny doesn’t have to do that”
or “Johnny’s mom says its ok”.

Imagine keeping the standard of
righteousness, how did he do it?

Why didn’t Noah’s kids rebel, at the lack of
freedom they had to live like the neighbors?

 Your Grandfather did it…

He held the family together.

Their standard condemned the world.

They were not out to condemn
anyone, only live righteous lives.

They modeled what was right,
 but their neighbors rejected it
and were condemned.

How are we doing?

Are we in holy fear building
an ark to save our family?

What is the pitch that holds everything
else together in your family?

I wonder the tone of voice Grandfather
Noah used with his family.

I wonder how Grandfather Noah kept his
anger and frustration under control.

I wonder how often he had talks with
the family together and one on one.

I wonder about the little things that go unnoticed.

I want to be like Grandfather Noah, don’t you?

Let’s spend some time thinking about
his life because it was maybe the greatest
example of building and saving a family
that there ever was or will be.

“I love you, Grandpa Noah, and miss you.”

“Grandpa Noah, I want to be like you.”
