Nature of God
The word “Nature” in
the broadest sense
Is the natural,
physical, or material world or universe
It is easy to believe
the earth exists
It is also easy to
believe that seeking or understanding
The “Nature” of the
world we will be rewarded
We call this science
Look at the rewards
we have because we have come
To understand the
nature of the world
The word nature
is derived from the Latin
word natura,
Or, "essential
qualities, innate disposition"
Many have spent their
lives studying the essential qualities
And innate
disposition of the created work but missed its Creator
One word can describe
our complex God
That word is LOVE
Those who don’t
believe this will spend their lives fighting to destroy God
Those who embrace the
nature of God as Love
Will enjoy all His
"essential qualities, innate disposition"
Nature of God
Simple faith starts with Hebrews 11:6.
Believing God exists.
And He rewards those
who seek Him.
This is the foundation of pleasing God.
Without faith it is
impossible to please God.
The next step to simple faith is
discovering the Nature of God.
The word “Nature” in the broadest sense,
is the natural, physical,
or material world or universe.
It is easy to believe the earth exists.
It is also easy to believe that seeking
or understanding the “Nature” of
the world we will be rewarded.
We call this science.
Look at the rewards we have because we have
come to understand the nature of the world.
The word nature is derived from
the Latin word natura, or
"essential qualities, innate disposition".
Many have spent their lives studying
the essential qualities and innate disposition
of the created work but missed its Creator.
Romans 1:20 NLT tells us…
From the time the
world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made.
They can clearly see his invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine
nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.
Many have seen the earth and the universe
as the end and fail to see the clear evidence of
science that it all came into being by a Creator.
We have worshiped the discoveries
and pleasures the world has to offer
and missed the One who created it all.
We have learned how to survive off the land
through understanding the nature of the earth.
But if we do not understand the nature
of God, we will not have the power
to survive beyond life on this earth.
Look at 2 Peter 1:3 NIV…
His divine power has
given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him
who called us by his own glory and goodness.
Just like the nature of this
world is overwhelming.
world is overwhelming.
After almost 7000 years of exploration,
we still have so much to learn.
So is the Creator of the world.
The nature of God is overwhelming.
All our exploration
of knowing God
still leaves us with more to learn.
It would seem the nature of God,
like the nature of earth, is not simple.
With God all things about His
nature points to one thing.
The very core of who God is.
Everything about Him comes from one thing.
One word can describe our complex God.
That word is…LOVE
God is love
1 John 4:8 & 6
So keep it simple…God is LOVE!
That is His Nature…
The "essential
qualities, innate disposition"
When we discover the simple truths,
we than have the foundation to understanding
the mysteries of God and all He has created.
Scripture Reading
Romans 1:19-20 NIV
20 For since the
creation of the world God's invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature
— have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men
are without excuse.
2 Peter 1:3-4 NIV
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life
and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and
goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises,
so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the
corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
1 John 4:7-16 NIV
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from
God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not
love does not know God, because God is love . 9 This is how God showed his love
among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live
through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and
sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God
so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God;
but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in
us.
13 We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has
given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has
sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that
Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 16 And so we know and
rely on the love God has for us.
God is love . Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in
him.
