Efficiency and Effectiveness

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line.

That is simple.

I heard a famous educational leader say he believed
we would someday be able to go back in time.

That time travel will be possible.

The logic or reasoning he gave is a circle.

Because you can take two points,
a beginning and an end, and put
them together and make a circle.

Therefore, he says, we will be
able to travel back in time.

I don’t know why these people make the big bucks.

But he is right about one thing…

If we follow the line of a circle
we will repeat the same actions.

The most effective way to
move forward is a straight line.

Because it is the shortest distance.

When the Children of Israel left Egypt to the
promise land, had they taken the shortest
route it would have only taken 11 days.

But because they wandered around
in the wilderness, it took 40 years.

Like the Children of Israel,
we make our faith complicated.

God never intended getting from
earth to heaven to be complicated.

In fact, Jesus preached the
Kingdom of Heaven is near.

He taught us to pray…

“Thy Kingdom come in earth as in heaven.”

 God’s message is simple.

 Remember when He called the
little children to come to Him…

He said…
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."  And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.
Mark 10:14-16

It seems we try to make
life harder than it should be.

As we stand on point “A”
we get our eyes off point “B”.

Our minds wander and so does our life.
Being efficient and effective in
life is sticking to the straight line.

Satan is still asking the same question…

“Did God really say”

God said you can eat of all the
trees in the garden except one.

Satan tries to take us away from the blessings
of all the trees and get us to focus on one tree.

To be effective and live a simple life…

Focus on what God said,
not what He did not say.

It is the best way to get
from point “A” to point “B”.

The road to life Jesus spoke
about is narrow and straight.

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV

The road to life may be difficult
but it is not hard to find.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

“Don’t Complicate It”

Scripture Reading

2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Genesis 3:1 NIV
3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the
LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say,
'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"
