Power A Staining Word

Power

A Staining Word

Why are all things sustained by the power of His Word?
Because of God’s integrity
You and I count on words every day
There are times we find it hard to keep our word
There are times others do not keep their word
Our God
Cannot Lie
Cannot Change
Cannot break a Promise
How sustaining are your words?

A Staining Word

God sustains all things by His powerful Word.

What makes God’s Word so powerful?

How is it that all things are
 sustained by God’s Word?

God cannot lie

Hebrews 6:18
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things
in which it is impossible for God to lie

Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?

1 Samuel 15:29
He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie
or change his mind;

God cannot change

Malachi 3:6
"I the LORD do not change. So you,
O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.

Psalms 102:27
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday and today and forever.

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.

Revelation 1:8
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God,
"who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

God cannot break a promise

Psalms 89:34
I will not violate my covenant or
alter what my lips have uttered.

Leviticus 26:44
Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies,
I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely,
breaking my covenant with them. I am the LORD their God.

Why are all things sustained by the power of His Word?

Because of God’s integrity.

You and I count on words every day.

There are times we find it hard to keep our word.

There are times others do not keep their word.

Our God…

 Cannot Lie

Cannot Change

Cannot break a Promise

How sustaining are your words?

Scripture Reading

Hebrews 1:1-4 NIV

1:1 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
