Power to Hold On

How is your grip?

If you were hanging onto a rope for all your life how long could you hold on?

How many things have you held on to for more than 10 years? 20 years? 50 years?

 

 

 

Power to Hold On

Most of us try to hang onto our youth.

Although we may hang on in our minds

we lose strength the older we get.

Hanging onto life is not easy

and our best grip does not last.

Some day we all have to let go

and breathe our last breath.

Jesus gives us some encouraging words…

  My sheep listen to my voice;

 I know them, and they follow me.

 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;

no one can snatch them out of my hand.

Eternal life, never perish

no one can snatch them out of my hand.

The grip of Christ is able to hold on to you.

His grip is eternal.

The strength of His grip and the power

to give us eternal life is full of mystery.

Jesus did many miracles to prove to us His ability to

restore perishing bodies, even raise the dead.

All these miracles were to help us believe

He has the power to give eternal life.

Jesus tells us who are in His hand.

Those His grip will never let go of…

My sheep listen to my voice;

I know them,

and they follow me.

Those who listen to His voice.

28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;

no one can snatch them out of my hand.

29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all;

no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.

30 I and the Father are one."

The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one."
