Power
Power of His Word
God’s Word sustains
the universe
The earth has
weathers, great storms
We, too, if we hold
fast to the Word of God, will be sustained
Power of His Word
We know the creation of the heavens and
the earth were accomplished when God said…
“Let there be…”
Jesus spoke to the winds and
the waves and they obeyed Him.
Jesus spoke to demons and they obeyed.
Jesus said rise up and walk.
He commanded the dead to come back to life.
Powerful words.
Hebrews 1:3 says…
The Son is the
radiance of God's glory
and the exact
representation of his being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Jesus “sustaining all things by his powerful word.”
If the earth is sustained by His Word…
What about us?
What sustains you?
The earth was created and
is sustained by His Word.
Yet, think of all the great storms
the earth has weathered.
God has created us and
we too will face great storms.
So what will sustain us in the storms?
God’s Word
Those who live by God’s Word
will be sustained by it.
A lack of God’s Word or disobedience
to God’s Word will not sustain you or I.
In the past God spoke
to our forefathers through
the prophets at many
times and in various ways,
but in these last days
he has spoken to us by his Son
Hebrews
1:1,2
Therefore…
We must pay more
careful attention, therefore,
to what we have heard,
so that we do not drift away
Hebrews 2:1
Scripture Reading
Hebrews 1:1-4 NIV
1:1 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the
prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has
spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom
he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact
representation of his being, sustaining
all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for
sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as
much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
Hebrews 2:1-4 NIV
2:1 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what
we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For if the message spoken by
angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just
punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This
salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those
who heard him. 4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various
miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
