Power
Incomparable Power
How do you define
power?
Maybe the reason we
do not see the incomparable great power
We want to see is
because we are not connected to His Body
Every part of Jesus’
Body was committed to the work He did on earth
And every part of
His Body was committed to the suffering of the cross
Our connected and
commitment level to the Body of Christ is
The only thing that
limits the incomparably great power of God
You cannot handle
the power of God alone
Incomparable Power
How do you define power?
What is the most powerful
thing you have seen in life?
Maybe you have seen the
destructive bombs of war.
The force of a hurricane.
The muscle for a body builder.
The rule of a world
leader.
The love between a man and a woman.
Maybe fantasize power.
The power of super heroes like
Superman and Wonder Woman.
All you have seen and all you can image as
the most powerful thing cannot compare to…
“His incomparably great power for us who believe”
God’s incomparable great power for us who believe.
Two things describe this power…
God raised Christ from the dead.
The power to make a body that was beaten
with a whip, that ripped his flesh off His bones.
The cruel nails that held the body to a cross.
A sword that pierced the
side into the body’s organs.
That undeniable death
brought back to life.
The second incomparable great power…
God seated Christ at His right
hand in heavenly realms…
Far above all rule and
authority,
power and dominion,
and every title that
can be given,
not only in the
present age but also in the one to come.
And God placed all
things under his feet
and appointed him to
be head over everything
For what?
What was the purpose of displaying this power?
Was it to rescue you and I from Hell.
NO!!! That would change nothing.
The purpose of this incomparably great power is…
For the church, which
is His Body,
the fullness of Him
who fills
everything in every
way.
If you thought saying the sinner’s prayer
to save you from hell was the demonstration
of God’s great power, you might as
well have bought the Brooklyn Bridge.
God’s purpose and great
power is for the CHURCH.
The description of the church is very clear.
It is His Body.
Christ may have died on the
cross but He was not dismembered.
His Body is fitted together, each
member functions with the other members…
Where Christ is the Head.
It is this united Body that is filled
with the fullness of Him in every way.
All the incomparable power is in His Body.
If that is what you bought into.
If you are united in His Body and a member
that the incomparable power works through…
Than you will rule and reign with Him forever.
Maybe the reason we do not see the
incomparable great power we want to see is
because we are not connected to His Body.
Every part of Jesus’ Body was committed to
the work He did on earth and every part of His
Body was committed to the suffering of the cross.
Our connected and commitment level to the
Body of Christ is the only thing that limits
the incomparably great power of God.
You cannot handle the power of God alone.
Scripture Reading
Ephesians 1:15-23 NIV
15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in
the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 I have not stopped giving
thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom
and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray also that the eyes
of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which
he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
19 and his
incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of
his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the
dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and
every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one
to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be
head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him
who fills everything in every way.
