Power Be Strong in His Mighty Power

Power

Be Strong in His Mighty Power

Children and parents, slaves and masters BE ALERT
Attacks will come and our Big Powerful God wants you to win the battle
He cares about your family and work
Even though it is small in the scope of the world
Be ready as if your family and work is the only thing that matters
Because that is where God put you and empowered you

Be Strong in His Mighty Power

In Ephesians 6, Paul is writing to
Children, Parents, Slaves, and Masters.

Paul is not writing to military soldiers,
 but everyday people.

He is writing to families and those in the work force.

The two places we all seem to find ourselves every day.

Paul is not making an abrupt shift or change
in direction when he comes to verse 10.

Verse 10 and following were written to us…

To families and workers.

In the family and at work, Paul
sounds the air raid siren when he says…

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

The family is the foundation to society.

Family is the foundation to life.

We begin here at birth and
we procreate to continue life.

Family is where we not only get our birth, but the
foundation we will build on for the rest of our lives.

Work for most of us is where
we spend most of our awake time.

Work is the place of our provision as we make
provision for the needs and desires of others.

Those we work with become like family because
of the time and closeness spent together.

There are many wars and roomers of wars.

You and I only have to turn on the news to see this is true.

Your work may be as a soldier and Ephesians 6:10
and following is a good word for you…

But Paul’s attention is to those of us in
the common life of family and work.

Paul recognizes there is a battle
against your family, your home.

There is a battle against your
provision and earthly provider.

Out of all the families in
the world your family matters.

Out of all the needs in the
world your needs matter.

The battle in your home and
at your job is very important.

God knows, what may seem little in your family
or job in comparison to world events, is a big deal.

God wants you to be prepared to take on any attack
in your family and at your place of work.

God wants you to be a powerful
protector of your home and job.

Be aware that there are seasons or
waves of attacks from high places.

Job went through a season where
Satan attacked him and his family.

After Jesus was tempted in the wilderness,
it says Satan left for a season.

Be ready…

“so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground,
and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then,”

Be armored with Truth, Righteousness,
Good News of Peace, Faith and the Word of God.

Note what Paul adds to this list…

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

PRAYER

In the Spirit

On All Occasions

With All Kinds

Request

Always keep on praying.

Children and parents, slaves and masters BE ALERT.

Attacks will come and our Big Powerful
God wants you to win the battle.

He cares about your family and work even
though it is small in the scope of the world.

Be ready as if your family and work
is the only thing that matters.

Because that is where God
put you and empowered you.

Scripture Reading

Ephesians 6:1-20 NIV

6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother"-which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
