Jesus’ Words in Red
Go in PEACE
"Peace
be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
Two statements from
Christ, can we accept them both?
The first statement
is
"Peace be with you!
The second statement
is
As the Father has sent me, I am sending
you."
Know He will never
leave us even when we feel like crying out
“My God, My God, Why have you forsaking me”
After Jesus said
these words
He overcame the greatest challenge to peace
Not even death could
take away His peace
For the joy set before
Him He endured the cross
Remember God is
sending you with Peace
“Go in PEACE”
Go in PEACE
Two statements from Christ, can we accept them both?
The first statement is…
"Peace be with you!
Peace a certain quality of existence which has
been sought after,
yet seldom found in a
long enduring form
Peace a state of tranquility or quiet, freedom,
harmony,
prosperity, to set at
one again
All of us want peace.
The second statement is…
As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
This statement is a little harder to receive.
The Father sent His Son Jesus into
a world who did not receive Him.
The Father sent Jesus into dangerous situations.
The Father sent Jesus to die
for the people of the world.
I think many of us only read
and hear what we want to.
Many of us are willing to
praise God for the days of peace.
But when God adjusts our calendar…
When God makes an appointment for us…
When God sends us to the needy…
Or, when God wants to bring
glory out of our hardships…
Are we willing to be sent?
Jesus always had peace.
The trouble He faced never
caused Him to lose His peace.
We should not think it
strange
when trials come upon
us.
Trial of all kinds James says.
We should not think we were made for a
controlled environment, where the sun is always
shining and the temperatures are always just right.
In this world you will have trouble.
Trouble with others
Trouble with finances
Trouble with health
Trouble with things
Jesus said in this world
you will have trouble.
In the world the Father sent Him.
Here is the Key…
“But be of good cheer I have overcome the world.”
You and I have been sent like Jesus.
We, too, have the same mission
to “overcome the
world”.
Never let the troubles of
the world take your peace.
The same God who gives peace also gives
the commission to go into a troubled world.
Nothing should surprise us.
Trouble followed Jesus.
If we say we were made for peace, then
we must also say we are made for overcoming.
The Father is sending you and I.
Some days we are sent to
give a smile and have a party.
Other days, we are sent to
bind up the broken hearted.
And some days we are
sent to lay down our lives.
Many of us keep our schedules
on a computer calendar.
Because of the computer, we now
can open our calendar to groups.
You and I need to have a
group calendar with God the Father.
We need to be expecting God to
write in new appointments all the time.
Some are short and some
are longer appointments.
But each appointment we
need to have peace with.
Each appointment we need to rise
to the challenge and overcome.
Peace actually increases as
we overcome greater troubles.
Little children are
fearful of many things.
As adults, our fears decrease because
we learn how to face our fears.
As sons and daughters
of our Heavenly Father…
We, too, will have
less fear as we understand
we are sent by the Father just like Jesus.
Know He will never leave us even when
we feel like crying out…
“My God, My God, Why have you forsaking me.”
After Jesus said these words He overcame
the greatest challenge to peace.
Not even death could take away His peace.
For the joy set before Him He endured the cross.
Remember God is sending you with Peace.
“Go in PEACE”
Scripture Reading
John 20:19-22 NIV
19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the
disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came
and stood among them and said, "Peace be with
you!" 20 After he said this,
he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw
the Lord.
21 Again Jesus said, "Peace be
with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
