Jesus’ Words in Red Believing Can Be So Hard

Jesus’ Words in Red

Believing Can Be So Hard

"Because you have seen me, you have believed;
blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

We don’t have to wait for Jesus to do or say something that will help our faith
We can read His words
The things He did and said in advance so when our faith is challenged
We will have already put His Word in our heart
So we will have the strength to stand in faith for our need
Read God’s Word today and every day because
“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Believing Can Be So Hard

Thomas had walked with Jesus and saw many
miracles and heard the words Jesus spoke.

Thomas like the other disciples could
not comprehend who Jesus said He was.

It is clear they all lost hope at the cross.

If you are like me, we wish we had a front roll
seat when Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead.

Thomas saw those things and still doubted.

Jesus said to Him…

"Because you have seen me, you have believed;

Believing is seeing and even then
believing can be difficult.

Thomas proves this point.

Jesus’ next words were…

“…blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

You and I are…

 “those who have not seen”

So how is it we can believe?

John tells us how we can be blessed and
believe even though we have not seen…

Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:3 -31

We have the written account
of what Jesus said and did.

Any time we want to see a miracle
all we have to do is open our Bible.

The scriptures were…

written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God, and that by believing
you may have life in his name.”

When you need a miracle,
open your Bible and read one.

Reading that account will encourage you to believe
Jesus will do for you what He has done for others.

Jesus says you are blessed if
you believe and have not seen.

For Thomas and the other disciples, faith
came by seeing and listening to Jesus speak.

We are blessed to have the
proven and tested Word of God.

For Us…

Faith comes from hearing the message,
and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17

We don’t have to wait for Jesus to do or
say something that will help our faith.

We can read His words,
the things He did and said in advance
so when our faith is challenged…

We will have already put His Word in
our heart so we will have the strength
to stand in faith for our need.

Read God’s Word today
and every day because…

 “Blessed are those who have
not seen and yet have believed."

Scripture Reading

John 20:24-31 NIV

24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"

But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."

26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"  27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
