It is Written
In our courts many times,
good people are taken advantage of
because they don’t know the law.
The accuser strips them of their freedom
because they don’t know their rights.
Satan has taken away many of our freedoms in Christ
because he has won the case in our minds.
He has accused us of not being worthy of God’s
promises
or that they are not for you today.
But you can win the case,
if you believe God’s Word
and speak it in your defense!
Jesus’ only defense
when tempted by the devil
was the written
Word of God.
In the court room,
a righteous judge
can only act on
written law.
Our God in heaven
has established
a written law.
His law is not confined
to the 10 Commandments.
We have an accuser.
When the devil
stands before God accusing us,
we have a defense.
When the accuser says
you are not worthy of God’s love and favor; your
defense is:
John 3:16
“God so loved the world”…that’s me!!!
When the accuser says
your finances are going to dry up with the fallen
economy; your defense is:
Philippians 4:19
“God will supply all my needs.”
When the accuser tells you
you will never break that bad habit; your defense is:
Jude 24
“He will keep me from
falling
and when I stand before
Him He will not find fault.”
When the accuser says
you can not do anything right; your defense is:
Romans 8:28
“God will work out all
things for the good.”
The accuser says
you give and you will have nothing; your defense is:
Luke 6:38
“When I give it shall come back to me
“When I give it shall come back to me
shaken together and
running over.”
&
Proverbs 22:9
“A generous man will be
blessed.”
When the accuser tells you
to worry and fear; your defense is:
2 Timothy 1:7
“God has not given me a
spirit of fear
but a spirit of power and sound mind.”
When the accuser says
you are sick; our defense is:
Isaiah 53:5 & 1 Peter 2:24
“By His stripes we are
healed.”
The devil was not able to win a conviction on Jesus
because Jesus used the written Word of God as His defense!
The devil will not win a conviction on you and I
if we use the written Word of God as our defense!
But remember God’s promises are two part:
your part and God’s part.
Jesus paid a great price for your
freedom
so don’t let the devil take it away from
you!
Know your rights!
Scripture Reading
Revelation 12:10-12 NIV
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
"Now have come the salvation and the power and
the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ.
For the accuser of our brothers,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11 They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short."
Matthew 4:1-11 NIV
4:1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert
to be tempted by the devil.
2 After fasting
forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
3 The tempter came to him and said,
"If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to
become bread."
4 Jesus answered,
"It is written:
'Man does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of
God.'"
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city
and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
6 "If you are the Son of God," he said,
"throw yourself down.”
For it is written: "'He will command his angels
concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a
stone.'"
7 Jesus answered him,
"It is also written:
'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain
and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their
splendor.
9 "All this I will give you," he said,
"if you will bow down and worship me."
10 Jesus said to him,
"Away from me, Satan!
For it is written:
'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him
only.'"
11 Then the devil left him,
and angels came and attended him.
