Life is a Victorious Adventure

Life, Adventure or Battle

By William M. Self

God gave you His Word

So you will never have to play defense

Life is a victorious adventure

Life can put you on the defense

 Life is a Victorious Adventure

There are times when it seems you
 are repairing instead of building.

Fighting to keep your ground
 instead of advancing forward.

So busy protecting what we have,
 we can’t gain any ground.

A lot of my Christian training
was about playing defense…

Holding your ground until Jesus comes.

I can’t think of a time Jesus ever played defense.

When the Sadducees and Pharisees tried to trap
Him by the crafty ways of phrasing questions…

Jesus turned the tables and put them on the defensive.
 Matthew 21:24; John 8:7

Jesus said the Kingdom of God suffers violence
but the Violent take it be force. Matthew 11:12

Daniel saw the Abomination of desolation.

But he also saw God’s people “Strong
and doing Exploits” according to the
translators of the Amplifies and KJV.

I like that word “exploits”.

Exploits is not a defensive word.

It means “to employ the
 greatest possible advantage”.

The Devil and the World have used
exploitation to cripple and corrupt.

They have used it to oppress and posses,
to advance the agenda of darkness.

Jesus never allowed Himself to be victimized.

Jesus never held His ground…

 He always advanced to victory.

2 Corinthians 2:14 says… He
Always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ”.

God meant for your life and mine
to be an adventure not a battle.

To play offense not defense.

To “DO” Exploits.

Scripture Reading

Daniel 11:32 KJV
32 And such as do wickedly against the
covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries:
but the people that do know their
God shall be strong, and do exploits.

2 Corinthians 2:11-17 NIV
11 in order that Satan might not outwit us.
For we are not unaware of his schemes.

12 Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ
and found that the Lord had opened a door for me,
13 I still had no peace of mind, because
I did not find my brother Titus there.
So I said good-by to them and went on to Macedonia.

14 But thanks be to God, who always
leads us in triumphal procession in Christ
and through us spreads everywhere the
fragrance of the knowledge of him.
15 For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those
who are being saved and those who are perishing.
16 To the one we are the smell of death;
to the other, the fragrance of life.
And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many,
we do not peddle the word of God for profit.
On the contrary, in Christ we speak before
God with sincerity, like men sent from God.
