Every Adventure starts somewhere
The treasures in your heart will determine
If your adventure is good or bad
Adventures Start in the Heart
Every Adventure starts somewhere.
We can look at dates and places
where we started an Adventure.
Maybe it was the first day of college
that started your
career, your wed-
ding day or the birth of your child.
Maybe it was a short Adventure one day
at a theme park, looking for as many
thrills as you can get before the park closes.
But Adventures don’t start at an
address you can find with your GPS.
Adventures start in the heart.
The heart is the command center of your life.
Our Adventures start with a desire in the heart.
Jesus said…
“A good man out of the
good treasure of the heart
bringeth forth good things: and
an evil man out of
the evil treasure bringeth forth
evil things. Matthew 12:33-35
David was a good example of a man whose
heart took him on an Adventure of good and evil.
When David looked upon Bathsheba,
the lust in his heart led him on an
Adventure of adultery, lies, and murder.
Yet, this same David had a love for God,
and that heart after God led him on an
Adventure of forgiveness, power, and blessing.
The Scriptures reveal that our heart is the
control center, or command center, of our life.
Out of the heart comes thoughts, actions,
beliefs, attitudes,
and ultimately our eternity.
“If you
confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in
your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it
is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with
your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans
10:9-11
The “GOOD ADVENTURE” starts in the heart
that “Believes” and“Trusts” in the Lord.
Psalms 37:4 says...
“Delight yourself in the LORD and
he will give you the desires of your
heart.”
God wants you to have a wonderful life…
He wants to fill your heart with good treasures.
Delight in Him and He will give
you your dreams and
desires.
Scripture Reading
Psalm 37:3-6
NIV
3 Trust in
the LORD and do good;
dwell in the
land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Delight
yourself in the LORD
and he will
give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit
your way to the LORD;
trust in him
and he will do this:
6 He will
make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice
of your cause like the noonday sun.
