Battle

Everything God gave you is to
Make your life a great adventure
Are you living it to the fullest
Daniel talks of a
time when the
“sanctuary of strength” is polluted...
“sanctuary of strength” is polluted...
The fortress and
security, the power and might...
The sacrifices, the
daily disciplines are set aside.
Instead of praise for doing good,
flatteries corrupt the people.
Flattery is the best form of lying.
Daniel is saying the abomination is weak,
undisciplined people sitting around
saying things to make you feel good.
This lazy attitude
will make life
“desolate”, empty and bare.
“desolate”, empty and bare.
But Daniel, a highly disciplined
achiever, gives us the contrast...
“But the people that do know their
God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
The word “exploits” is a great word
but it is not found in the Hebrew text.
It was put there by the
translators
to make the English easier to read.
to make the English easier to read.
The Hebrew text reads...
“People that do know their God shall be strong, and do.”
The Hebrew word “do” `asah (aw-saw')
to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application accomplish, advance, appoint, apt,
be at, become, bear, bestow, bring forth, bruise, be busy, certainly, have the charge of, commit,
deal (with), deck, displease, do, (ready) dress (-ed), (put in) execute (-ion), exercise, fashion,
feast, [fighting-] man, finish, fit, fly, follow, fulfill, furnish, gather, get, go about, govern,
grant, great, hinder, hold ([a feast]), indeed, be industrious, journey, keep, labor, maintain,
make, be meet, observe, be occupied, offer, officer, pare, bring (come) to pass, perform,
practice, prepare, procure, provide, put, requite, sacrifice, serve, set, shew, sin, spend,
surely, take, thoroughly, trim, very, vex, be [warr-] ior, work (-man), yield, use.
After reading the descriptive list of the word “do”, you
can see why the translators inserted the word “exploits”
God never intended “life” for us to be sitting around in the sun drinking margaritas speaking words that make us feel good.
God meant life to be an adventure.
God meant for our lives to be filled with exploits.
God meant for His
people to be disciplined and strong.
Exploits... “brilliant and heroic acts, employing
the greatest possible advantage to the gifts,
talents and abilities God has given you”
Is your adrenaline pumping?
Scripture Reading
Daniel 11:31-32 KJV
31 And arms shall
stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall
take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh
desolate.
32 And such as do
wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people
that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
