An Adventure
Not a battle
That you share
together
has taught that we
are in the last days.
Scripture
Reading
focused on perilous times…
Times full of danger, disaster and ruin.
Paul writes… “But mark this: There will be
terrible
times in the last days.” 2 Timothy 3:1
Peter also paints a picture of doom and gloom.
Jesus says you will be hated by all nations.
Daniel speaks of an “Abomination of Desolation”.
It is true that there have been several fulfillments
throughout
history of the things Daniel
spoke of
and still hold a future fulfillment.
Growing up on this teaching has developed
a negative and pessimistic view point of life.
I remember a year or so after Sandy
and I got married, having nightmares…
Dreams of having children and seeing them in
front of a firing squad because of our belief in Christ.
I wrestled with God because I did not want
to bring children into this evil world.
The Bible has never
sugar coated life.
Jesus said the Devil come to destroy
and He came to give abundant life.
As I look over the years of my life,
I viewed much of it
as a battle.
This view point kept me from many blessings and joys.
It also hindered me from proper planning of my future.
When Daniel spoke of an
“Abomination of Desolation”, he said this.
“But the
people who know their God shall
prove themselves strong
prove themselves strong
and
shall stand firm and do exploits [for God]”
Daniel 11:32AMP
Daniel 11:32AMP
Looking deeper into the “The Last days”
Message, I see it as
positive message.
“They
will come trembling to the LORD and
to
his blessings in the last days.” Hosea 3:5 NIV
I believe the “Last days” message whether it is the
last days for the world or the last days of our lives
is to be viewed as an “Adventure” not a “Battle”.
How do you view today?
Has hope filled your heart? If so,
today will be an “Adventure”.
Adventure… An
exciting or unusual
experience, boldly taking usual risk.
Daniel 11:32
AMP
32 And such
as violate the covenant he
shall
pervert and seduce with flatteries,
but the people who know their God
shall prove
themselves strong and shall
stand firm and do exploits [for God].
Hosea 3:5 NIV
They will
come trembling to the LORD
and to his
blessings in the last days .
Isaiah 2:2-3 NIV
2 In the
last days
the mountain
of the LORD's
temple will
be established
as chief
among the mountains;
it will be
raised above the hills,
and all
nations will stream to it.
3 Many
peoples will come and say,
"Come,
let us go up to the
mountain of the LORD,
to the house
of the God of Jacob.
He will
teach us his ways,
so that we
may walk in his paths."
