Life, Adventure or Battle
By William M. Self
Financed in the Heart
Your adventure is financed
by the treasure in your heart.
I love an adventure.
I love small ones and big ones.
I love the thrill of pushing the abilities
and gifts God has
given me.
I love the smell of something new.
I love learning something new.
Adventure is the exploration of life.
It is tapping into “life’s
fullness”
Jesus promises in John 10:10.
Generally, when I look at taking on a new adventure
the first thing I look at is the size of my wallet.
As I look back on the great adventures of
my life, I think they all went over budget.
Although money has a part in most everything we do,
it really is not what
finances an adventure.
Every adventure is financed in the heart.
The successful adventures are the ones
where we go after it with a “whole heart”.
The greater the treasures of the
heart, the greater the adventure.
The greater the treasures of faith, hope, and love
in your heart, the greater your adventures will be.
But great adventures will always go over budget.
Great adventures cost and the reason we
take on these adventures is to gain not lose.
Great adventures always have reward.
The archived goal will always give
you more than what you spent.
Even the adventure that fails, has potential
returns that add to the treasures of the heart.
Every promise of God has a pot
of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Every adventure of faith in those
promises will end in great treasure.
Jesus said consider
the cost.
To successfully navigate through the adventures of life,
you will need a heart
filled with good treasures.
Capital One says…
“What is in your Wallet?”
But the real question is…
“What is in your
heart?”
Scripture Reading
Psalm
119:11-16 NIV
11 I have
hidden your word in my heart
that I might
not sin against you.
12 Praise be
to you, O LORD;
teach me
your decrees.
13 With my
lips I recount
all the laws
that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice
in following your statutes
as one
rejoices in great riches.
15 I
meditate on your precepts
and consider
your ways.
16 I delight
in your decrees;
I will not
neglect your word.
John 10:10 NIV
I have come
that they may have life,
and have it
to the full.
