What on Earth Can We Do???

What on Earth Can We Do???

As the world is falling apart and people are becoming more distant from God,

What in the world shall we do?

First, show the joy of your faith, it will reveal your love for the Lord

Second,

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter 3:15

Let the joy of your faith shine in a world of darkness

Remember people are looking for joy

They are looking to escape sorrow

“The opposite of joy is not sorrow it is unbelief” Leslie Weatherhear

Give people a reason to believe

Enjoy your faith

What on Earth Can We Do???

I was talking to a couple after church.

They were very concerned

about the condition of the world.

They were grieving over family members who

are lost in the darkness of sin and this world.

At one point in the conversation the wife

said with a feeling of desperation…

 “What can we do?”

An answer came quickly to my mind.

It was not from the wonderful message

that was just shared that morning…

A message on hiding

God’s Word in our heart.

One of the points of hiding

God’s Word in our heart was

to hide the words of hope so

we can be a blessing to others.

To know Scriptures that will help

the lost find the way to God,

like the Roman Road of Salvation.

As great and important as the Word

shared that morning was…

I found something more important come to mind.

It came to me like a fresh revelation for the moment.

The wife’s feeling of desperation said…

 “What can we do?

I responded,  “Enjoy your faith.”

Everyone is looking for

what will give them joy in life.

We look to people who seem

to be happy, confident in life.

Our faith is to be enjoyed.

In fact, Jesus came…

“So you might have life and have it to the full.”

John 10:10

If we are enjoying our faith,

there will be a joy in our heart.

I can’t tell you how many times people

have told me they see something in my eyes…

Something special, a sense of joy and excitement.

You don’t even have to say a word and people

can see when the joy of the Lord is in you.

And don’t forget…

“The joy of the Lord is your strength”.

Nehemiah 8:10

If we are enjoying our faith, we will be

looking into God’s Word for more joy.

If we are enjoying our faith, we will be

in fellowship with other believers,

where we get more encouragement.

If we are enjoying our faith, going to

church will be something to look forward to.

If we enjoy our faith, our conversation

will be influenced by God’s Word.

If we are enjoying our faith,

we will be looking up, not down.

If we are enjoying our faith, people

will see something in you that is desirable.

If we enjoy our faith, we will

be living out our love for God.

Love is a desire, an affection.

Love is visible from every part of our being.

Loving God is enjoying our faith.

A man or a woman enjoying their spouse will

express it by the way they talk to each other.

And when they are apart, their words of

love and joy will continue to be spoken.

When people see your joy, they will

wonder what it is that gives you your joy.

When people see you love God not as a duty,

but as a joy, they will begin to question.

As the world is falling apart and people

are becoming more distant from God…

What in the world shall we do?

First, show the joy of your faith

it will reveal your love for the Lord.

Second…

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

1 Peter 3:15

Let the joy of your faith shine in a world of darkness.

Remember people are looking for joy.

They are looking to escape sorrow.

Give people a reason to believe.

Scripture Reading

1 Peter 3:13-16 NIV

13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened."   15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
